I was reading in the splendid new issue of Motor Trend Classic about the Vopal car which has won 80 awards for the quality of its restoration on the Touring body. Apparently Jeff Vogal bought two Pegasos in 1972 with funds provided by his parents. The one his parents--Jack and Vi Vopal-- restored after his death is the Panoramic, or a name similar to that. I was wondering if the other was sold off early to finance the restoration of the one they have, or what? I think the MT writer doesn't mention what happened to that but I will have to look at the article again (I just read them at Barnes & Noble, rather spend my money there on food)

By the way I have seen the car at Concours, the carburetor is a four barrel Weber, which from a distance looks like Holley Dominator!

The Vopal Pegaso (Touring-bodied Panoramica, chassis #72) is featured in "European Car" magazine of November 1997. It is mentioned that their other Pegaso was chassis #35, a Saoutchik-bodied Z102. They don't state what became of that car.

As that bodybuilder I think was more adventurous. Maybe it was the French influence.
