It's taking place on the grounds of the Seattle Center, Saturday and Sunday Oct. 2-3 at the 17th annual "Festa Italiana Seattle". Display your Italian car for FREE, one day or both. You must register in advance by Sept. 20th. The Festival is also free to attend. Lots of good food and all kinds of free entertainment the whole weekend. Plus, new for this year- A Ferrari model exhibit, featuring hundreds of new and antique Ferrari car models. Registration info at: http://www.festaseattle.com/autoshowreg.htm I'm bringing the NWRFCA tent & banner on Saturday, along with my Ferrari and Fiat. Hope to see you there!
Can I get a couple of suggestions on nice hotels to stay at downtown while at this event? Secure Parking?
Randy, There's lots of nice downtown hotels with underground secure parking. The Westin, Sheridan, The W, etc.. It just depends on how much you want to spend for a room and what area of downtown you want to stay. Try expedia.com, hotwire.com, priceline.com, etc.. for some deals. Gary
It would be great to see you up here again Randy. Hope you can make it. (.......Kuzi has a pretty nice hotel over on Poverty Rock................... I don't think it's open for business though)
Thanks guys, I was looking on Travelocity yesterday and just didn't see anything about secure parking, so your info is great. DP, same here I miss driving with other F-cars. She gets kinda lonely in Salem.
We use the W in Downtown Seattle because they let us leave our fcar parked up top, next to the valet desk, so while it is in plain view for all, it is also under observation and protection of the valets. They also have secure underground valet parking, but the ramps are way too steep for my car to get down... This isn't an advertised service so much as a private arangement the valet guys and I have worked out, with a little help of Mr. Franklin et al.: treat them well, adn they trat your car well. Your mileage may vary. The hotel is nice, with really comfy beds. A bit spendy unless you can find a good deal. Another hotel we've used and liked is the Summerfield Suites. The valets there will let you park your car yourself, and they lock down the garage overnight. And not to far away, in Bellevue, is the Bellevue Club. The guys there are really good about taking care of the car, and the hotel is wonderful. Again, a bit spendy, but good rates can also be found if you look around. Most of the hotels in downtown Seattle have secure parking garages, but use valet services. I've never had a problem at any of them, and feel comfortable letting them park my car, but I recognze not everyone feels that way about valet service. If it's not an issue, the Alexis, Olympic, Sutton Place, and Westin are all nice hotels with good staff with whom I've dropped off my car comfortably.
I would like to come over on Sunday but didn't get a registration sent in. Can drop ins be accepted for the day?
Go to this site and call Paul Osgood. The number is at the bottom. You can download the form and possibly fax it in. It is for security and release of liability. http://www.festaseattle.com/autoshowreg.htm DJ
No confirmations are sent out. If you have pre-registered, just show up at the guard booth/service road entrance. All of the instructions are in the club's July newsletter on the front page. If you have NOT pre-registered, you won't be allowed in. Sorry.... I will be there around 10AM this Saturday morning. They would like all of the cars to be there no later than 11AM. The weather is supposed to be GREAT this weekend!! PS: If you're not displaying a car, think about coming down anyway and have some fun at the Italian Festival. It's free!
Don't forget to pack a couple of "folding chairs" or a blanket in your cars. I'll bring the club's canopy tent so we can have some shade from the -HOT SUN- on Saturday!
Only private business.......lol So Gary is it too late to register for sunday?......The slug mail hasn't caught up to my new addresss yet, so I haven't been receiving any club newsletters.
Kuzi, Their cutoff date was Sept 20th, but you might try calling the car show guy (Paul) to ask if you can still get in. His number is listed in the club's July newsletter article about the Festa show. It's also listed on the car entry registration form at: http://www.festaseattle.com/autoshowreg.htm Gary
Byron, Were you able to get in touch with them and get your car registered? I am not going to be able to make it Saturday for sure and might not be able to Sunday either. If you can't get yours in give me a call and you could go with me (or take my car if I can't go), it's already registered. John
Kuzi, It looks like I can only go Sat so maybe you could use my spot on Sun; through Paul of course. If you don't mind taking a slow 308 spot!
Paul just called me and he would like everyone who is displaying their cars to be there by -9:30AM- He will be at the guard booth from 8:00AM-9:30 on Saturday & Sunday to help place cars on the grounds. There are 12- Ferraris registered for Saturday and about the same for Sunday.
Byron are you planning on driving around or taking the ferry. let us know so we can go together. Two Ferraris are better than one. do you know if John is going?
