Based on the practice earlier this morning, qualifying should be quite interesting. With Massa on top this morning it certainly provides the psychological aspect that Ferrari needs against Renault. Alsono came out with a interview stating that they must give it everything they have as does Ferrari. Drivers are complaining about safety issues at Monza that need to be adressed if they are to race there again - you must admit the gravel traps vs. asphalt runoff is not so good. This could prove to be interesting . . . drivers complaining about the track that already has a significant problem with noise and race restrictions and Imola scheduled to begin the required upgrades next month - wonder who will be victorious in that situation since talk is of one GP in Italy. Carol
Good morning Mark and everyone else who joins in this morning. Session red flagged with 9:28 remaining. Yamamoto's tire delaminated down the straight - will have to go catch that on tv - the lag is several minutes. Carol oop's that was a Bridgestone ! Yamamoto out of F1 next season to be replaced by Anthony Davidson. MASSA Takes P1 by 1:04 right now!!!
I'm happy for Davidson, I think he should have a race seat over Yamamoto or Sato. Mark Update: MS on top now with NH and KR between himself and FM.
The interesting thing has been how Massa has been outperforming MS lately. Could this be a harbinger of things to come? (Q1 notwithstanding)
out go Albers, Monteiro, Yamamoto, Luizzi, Sato and Webber Klein's car gets craned away - not craned but pushed. . . but MS on top !! Next session should be interesting ... Heidfeld has been right up there splitting the Ferraris
Glad to see Speed make it into Q2, I really hope he's still in the seat next season. Does anyone know if he's been confirmed yet? Mark
Hello and good morning - grey goose/pomanagrate juice for breakfast this morning ?!?!? healthy way to start the day. Low-fat chocolate protein shake for me! Carol
Yes to the pomegranite juice, no Grey Goose though. Couple of hard boiled eggs shortly. I think the pom juice prevents hang overs.
Sounds good Ron . . have to remember that. Good morning Will. Out - Klein (given after Q1), Speed, DC, Rosberg, Ralf and Button. Now onto the biggie . . . Q3. This has been quite a weekend for Massa. Carol
Massa is the fastest of the weekend, followed closely by Kubica. MS in 4th and the comment by Peter Windsor quoting Willi Weber ('MS made his decision, and it was tough') does lead me to believe that Bild's speculation will hold true. I don't think the prospects of a Kimi/Massa team should leave Ferrari without a shot (quite the contrary). However, it was great to have witnessed the entire career of F1's all-time winningest and every other significant record-holding driver.
Please do not jinx me by saying that 'cuz I'll be forever getting it reloaded if it locks here - we can't get dsl due to our location - considering satellite internet. Five minutes + gone and no one pits for new tires. Boy did I ever get Q2 all botched up on who was out! Carol UPDATE - Alonso goes straight at chicane - rt rear puncture - that's good news!!!! I do believe he's pushing over his limit!!
