Alonso DID IN DEED substain body damage to his car but he's back out and in 8th. He's pushing himself beyond his limit in my estimation and that's scary.

Ferrari take 3 of the top 4 spots (Kimi is on Pole). MS comes up with a nails lap to vault temporarily into pole but nipped by Kimi. Felipe loses it in sector 3 and ends up in fourth. Alonso up to 5th, but behind Massa so things could still work out well for MS's chances. Ferrari should take the CC lead after this race.

No worries with KR on pole, odds are he's very light on fuel given how the McLaren has bee running.

BOO-HOO - damn Kimi got pole - MS second NH third and Massa fourth. MS MUST beat Kimi at the start , but not big worry cuz the McLaren won't last. Alonso up to 5th.

I don't know Mark. Kimi has been very fast not only this weekend, but the last 3 races. He has the tendency not to finish, though, and that definitely enhances MS' chances for a win in his last go-round at Monza.

Sure did Will. Wonder if the rules allow for body damage to be replaced prior to start? Guess I could go look it up!

Like the way that MS didn't acknowledge Kimi in interview but congratulated Nick - the BMW's have been quite impressive lately - hope they get better and better.

We have to go to the Mercedes dealer to pick up the SLK 350 that had a computer problem, I think I shall wear "red".

This is classic. The heir to Ms's ride nips him by .02 at Enzo's house, on the weekend of announcements that set the future.

I was wondering exactly the smae thing. My guess is they will be permittet to exchange "identical" bodywork parts. Didn't someone changed a damaged rear wing earlier this season? If the suspension is damage, I'll bet they can change it under "safety" consideration, but may be forced to start from pit lane.

I found that very telling... I think we know the answer with certainty now. I'll be surprised if MS is driving for Ferrari in F1 next year.

Yes you can exchange bodywork. AFAIR the rules say something like the car has to be in a safe condition, so e.g. a broken front wing would be allowed to be replaced as well. I'm pretty sure we'll see the Renault good as new tomorrow with no penalties.

What worried me more were the tire disintegrations by Bridgestone and Michelin for no apparent reason. Somehow I'm thinking we haven't seen the last of that. :(
