I'm not italian, but I've found since getting a Ferrari I am much, much more inclined to appreciate other italian things. Right now, I'm watching Food networks' Gianda's Italy Holiday. Am I alone?

Once you have a Brio (in a bottle) and a Veal sangwich, your pretty much done.....oh yeah, dont forget to kiss your mom everytime you see her.

I have 2 canadian freinds over the years that have turned into Italian experts. Its actually funny, I think they may know more than me now.

I you want to engage and emmerse yourself in a true Italian culture, prepare yourself by letting go of approximately 70% + of what you do/say/act/respect in your American ways.

Have a true passion in most everything you do. This is why Italian cars, clothing, food, attitude, and life in general is always so over the top for Italians. ;)

Americans know how to do this too, but they do it after being hit over the head by an Italian... they hear about passion and then they try to get it. Always playing catch-up.

Mario - by way of Palermo, Sicily, Italy.

Thanks, that's how I have always said it...

But then I heard a high-profile Fchatter say it differently and I doubted myself.

But then again, this high-profile Fchatter had never heard of a valeo transmission either. ;)

You're not alone. The cars are pure heaven. The food is good. The wines are OK, at least those pinot grigios that have been for sale in the bay area recently are decent enough. The clothing is good. Panerai is good, although they're just not for me. Some of the babes are WOW! Of course, I might have a little 10-12% genetic predjudice there.

Check out the movie Breaking Away sometime.
A local college town kid wins an Italian racing bicycle and decides that he loves all things Italian. He even adopts an Italian accent, which helps him win over a female student. Then he actually meets the Italians in a road race...

That's an Italian thing. Italian bicycles are the most beautiful as well as the cars. Then you get to the wine, women, food, scenery....

I have no craving for fish and chips after I bought my Lotus.
