Italian Village Brunch and FCA Car Show for Childrens Memorial Hospital. Sunday, September 7, 2008 10 AM 2:30 PM. This year this Ferrari event is open to all FCA Members and has no entry fee. Let's all support Children's Memorial Hospital by purchasing raffle tickets provided by The Italian Village 71 West Monroe Street Chicago, IL 60603 (312) 332-7005 Please register online http://www.fcacentralstates.org/
I've signed up to bring my '86 Mondial 3.2 cab. Am I correct in that participants can give rides to kids from the hospital? I was hoping so, as with the 2+2 I can bring along one of their parents, multiple kids, etc. I'm saving up some Matchbox F-cars to give as souvenirs as well. Looking forward to it - and to meeting some of the FCA folks.
The Matchbox cars is a very nice idea, bravo! It kinda depends on how the event goes, but usually you'll get a chance to take some kids around the block. I signed up as well with the 308.
For all you last minute folks out there...while at the Geneva Concours I heard that registration for this was so low that there were thoughts of potentially canceling. If anyone is going to go, but is putting off signing up, now is the time to visit the FCA web site and register for this free event.
Geez, sometimes I just don't understand what motivates people: This is a free event, in the city, for a good cause with free lunch. What's not to like!!!???
I have been registered, going to volunteer my time and see the kids. Dont have a car yet but need to talk and meet everyone. I will bring my camera and take pics and then post them here. Would love to talk to some 355 and 360 guys about the cars. I am split between the two and need to talk. Look forward to meeting everyone. Jon
From what I remember, I thought CMH was no longer allowing their patients to go for rides due to insurance concerns. This is a pic from a few years ago. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If we can't give rides, possibly the kids can sit in them and rev the engine, etc, all under supervision of course.
If thats the case, I am bringing my camera and I will make sure I take pictures. I can print them and send them back to the kids. I will be there with my wife Mai. Pm me for my cell phone and if you get a child thats wants a picture then call me and I will walk over to you guys. I hopefully wont be the only enthusiast without a car. I could bring mine but a Dodge Sprinter I think would stick out.
I'm about to get a Gransport delivered here in Chicago from another state (while I wait for the Granturismo S...) - if I get the car in time I will register and join the event with my wife & son. Hopefully there is no registration deadline??? It could be a close call.
Any interest for those in the Western Subs to meet and drive in together? We could meet at the closed Krispy Cream in Seven Bridges.
Might I suggest as an alternate meeting point the Starbucks just East of Continental Auto Sports on Ogden in Hinsdale? That way we won't have to drive through all the construction on I-88, and we could have a cup of coffee while we wait for everyone to get there. (And it's not the opposite direction for us closer to the city.) Just leave it to the "new guy" to foul things up huh? I'll defer to Gerry328 and JohnnyS for the final decision - just making a suggestion.
That's fine with me as well. We will meet at the Starbucks just East of Continental Auto Sports on Ogden in Hinsdale at about 8:45 AM.
