Am heading to Milan/Monza in a few weeks for the Grand Prix. Anyone ever been to this race? Any tips suggestions for getting around? This will be my first race.

There are several threads each year with suggestions - I'm sure some of them will be of use to you - the search function here can be very effective - try 'monza' in the F1 section

First, do not park in the infield, park outside the track. Took me over two hours to get out after the GP.

If you are in grandstands, do not be surprised if there are no isles. Just listen for the "scuzee" and let your fellow spectator through, up and down.

Have your photo taken at the old high banks. Pure history.

I did not find the place to be really photo friendly for the spectator. Go Friday, and walk the track then so you can get different perspectives of Monza.

Hopefully you will be near the S/F line, because if Ferrari wins, that massive cavallino flag comes out.

    Just have a great time.

Better not to park at all. Take the train instead. I have always stayed on Lake Como which is about a 40 minute, and not very expensive, train ride. There is a free shuttle bus between the Monza train station and the track although it is walkable anyhow. Even easier to take the train from the central station in Milan.

As RP says, go on the Friday and get around as much of the track as you can - especially upto the Lesmos. Buy a Circulare Tribune ticket which allows access into most of the grandstands on the Friday.

    Hi,
I have a question too. I may be arriving to Milano on the day of the race. Is it possible to buy tickets at the track hours or minutes before the race? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you

As of now there are seats in 90 % of the stands still on sale so my guess is there should be no problem - basic entry is EUR 79

Sounds good. I cannot buy them in advance because I am not 100% sure I am going yet

Use Google Maps---looks like it is a little over 2 hours from Milano. How much did you pay for the tickets?

I was in Monza in 1998, Ferrari 1-2 that day :D

When I went trains were much slower(double the time it took on Saturday) on the Sunday just for the fact there are 220,000 tifosi trying to get to the track. I'd leave really early unless you have a helicopter

    Grandstand Vedano N

it was the only grandstand that had wheelchair seating.

have you been there before? I want to get some advice about what to do in Italy, never been there but have always heard amazing stories. I really really want to go to the Ferrari tour. does anyone know if I have to buy tickets for that in advance?

I was there last year as well. ;)

I think first of all that you have to own a Ferrari to do the factory tour!

But the "Galleria Ferrari" (the museum) is a must when you are in Maranello, and so is a visit to either/or both Cavallino or Montana for a meal. Cavallino is on the same street as the factory gate, and Montana is nearby Pista di Fiorano.
If you are by the gate to Pista di Fiorano you are also able to glance through the gate to Carrozzeria Zanasi, they´re always working on something nice.
It´s a true joy just to be in Maranello! :)

    Vedano N!
Then I think we are quite close to each other, I´ve got tickets for 26A, right by start/finish line.
