Yeah i have had that happen a few times, i corrected a guy one time, respectfully, and he got all butt hurt infront of his lady friend. I think i was 28 or 29 and he was 40+. He was not happy with me to start.

 

Yeah, I actually got, "Where's your Detroit Tigers hat?" yesterday...

 

Should have asked his girlfriend if she'd like a ride...

Hey Lou, next time that happens tell the guy you'll sell him your pristine, Testarossa," for the well-below market price of only $90K. Then go out and buy yourself another couple of 348's for the garage.

Yeah, I've gotten the Testarossa thing a few times while driving my 348 Spider. Hey, at least they see it for what it is, a Ferrari...

 

wow at least they didnt try to belittle you with the famous "nice kit car" because they are such ****ing "experts"

 

I would be ok with that.. I hear "Magnum PI" all the time.. and my car is blue!!! haha

 

Was at cars and coffee, a guy was trying to explain to another guy that my car was a testarossa. As they walked towards the back to see the model number, he paused and went "hmmm must have been a special edition because it says 348". I held my laugh in and was a little embarrassed for the guy.

 

If they don't know what your car is, enlighten them.

Remember, if everyone knew, where's the allure?

I've had both the 348 and 355 called everything nice but a Ferrari, usually at the gas pumps.

Nice Mustang, Lambo, Maserati, Porsche...Just nod and smile...drive away knowing its your car. Who gives crap what other people think.

The best one though...was at a C&C and this guy is looking at the engine and says "wow, someone went thru alot of trouble to put a Ferrari motor in a Pontiac" I chuckled and said, yeah...it was.

The only part that drives me nuts is most people have to "tap tap" on it..

I was going to say the same thing. My 348 always get's confused with Magnum PI. WTF, I could see 328, but the 348? Vision issues I guess, lol.

Same thing here - an elderly lady (~mid 70s) walked by the rear after I parked... said she liked my car... and asked what year Mustang it was? I just smiled and said it was a newer one

 

So far with My 348 TS I've had:

"Is that a real one?"

"That's well nice! - is it a 360?"

"Is that the one Magnum drove?"

"Alright Sonny Crockett!"

"Did you build that yourself? - It looks really nice!"

And from a girl I know at work (obviously a petrolhead!) : "that's really nice! - Is that the new one?" (Bless her! )

Mostly hear, "Is that a real one?" Mostly because I am in the military, which naturally means that I can't own a Ferrari... but you would be surprised what you can afford when you are single with no kids!

 

Not always I've gotten is that a kit you built? or is it a real one? quite often...and once someone said nice Fiero

 

When they pull up along side and say is that a real ferrari , and they're driving , lets say , a camry , my response is " is that a real camry ? "

Pull into a car show. Had a guy walk up to my car, before I was parked, and ask (loudly) if it was a Fiero. No S&*T!

I said it was! But I used a real Ferrari engine, Ferrari transmission, Ferrari windshield, Ferrari seats, Ferrari.... he walked away.

I get the Magnum PI all the time.
