It's almost time...

It just hit me hard looking at the calendar that after this weekend...no more MS at the wheel of a F1 prancing horse.

I was also just reading a story that MS visited Senna's grave this week.

I guess this is something he has done before but I am sure his private thoughts on this visit will be a bit different.

God bless Senna and his memories and God bless MS. Its time to pass the torch to the next great champion.

Lets hope for a safe competitive race to grace the end of a historic career.

I'm also having trouble coming to terms with Michael's retirement.

Since Hakkinen retired, every race I felt was a bit like "how do all the others stack up against Michael this time"?

I know Alonso and Kimi will be sad when Michael is gone because they won't have such talent, such an icon, to measure themselves against. Every battle won and every victory meant more when they were driving against him.

All good things eventually come to an end, and I bet he will be back racing something again when the bug bites him (as it did with Hakkinen). In the mean time I'm sure he will enjoy the quiet life!

In the SpeedVision interview Schumacher claims to not have visited the grave site.

"Q: You said that you would only retire when you no longer felt competitive, so do you not feel competitive now? And also, is it true that you visited Ayrton Senna’s grave yesterday?

MS: For the first part of the question, I cannot see to be strong enough in the future to get the energy you need to be strong enough. It needs a lot of motivation, it needs a lot of dedication, and I have expressed this many times before. For the second part, I have not been at the place you have mentioned.


This guy won't even mention Senna by name, WTF?

He holds all the important records but this is why many drivers ,Euro press, and others better connected to F1 than people who post on internet boards still hold Senna and others in higher regard than Schumacher.

 

So long MS. It was a great ride for all.
