I can't wait to get my 330 GT out of hibernation.

Initially, I wasn't going to store it for the winter. And if I hadn't, I probably would have driven it to work today. But my wife was struggling with getting my toddler son in and out of the car, and I thought it would be nice if she could be sheltered from the snow and cold while she did it. That's just the kind of guy I am. ;)

Here's a picture of my car, taken last June. I haven't seen la macchina since October, but I should be driving her in a few short weeks. Just as soon as the rain washes away the snow and the road salt, we'll be on the road again!

    You should be "SMILES"!
That car looks better every time I see it.
Looks exactly like the one I had - my first Ferrsri. S/N 8125 as I recall.

    Thanks, Bob!

I just did a quick check on Kerry Chesbro's excellent site. I think that yours was s/n 8195, also silver with a black interior. How long did you own it?

    Hi, Matt

Through an arrangement with Phil Tegthmeir (one of the most knowledgable Ferrari people I've ever met) I bought the 2+2 from Micheal Blew in summer of 1974, for all of $7500 and it was LIKE NEW.
Sold it the following year to buy a Lusso, sight unseen, from a reputable seller.
Turned out to be a dog so I cancelled the transaction.

A month later, November 1975, the GTC came up for sale and I bought it.

I really miss the 2+2. One of my all-time favorites.

    Hi Matt,

While waiting for my green 330 last year, I had that pic of your car hanging in my garage next to my 328. (whatever happened to the Farrah Fawcett posters...)

Where do you store your car? You've not laid eyes on it for months??

I live in a similar climate, and drive my cars year-round- its better for them. The longest I have had to wait between drives (waiting for rain to wash off salt) is 4 weeks. Certainly, if garage space is an issue then your wife should win. I have a 10 and 7 year old and a 3 month old. I have a 3 car garage and with my M3, 328 she wouldnt move out her soul-less minivan to make room for my 330, so I had to go vertical! See profile pic

Thanks for the response, Bob. I liked your story.
I'm sorry that the Lusso turned out to be a dog, but a GTC isn't too shabby either. ;)
Thanks also for saying that the 330 2+2 is one of your all-timie favorites. I really like mine.

Dan, my car is high and dry, hidden nearby in a storage facility. It's about five miles from my home, so I really could have visited it at any point. But looking at it without being able to drive it, or hear its engine, would drive me a little crazy. Instead, I pull out the old pictures and dream of spring.

I wish I could go vertical, but my garage ceiling is only 8' overall, and 7' in places. I live in a townhouse, and the rest of the garage is occupied by another project, which I should be able to post pictures of soon.

So, although I haven't seen the car in months, I'm eager to get her going again. I may need some brake work; we'll see what a spring inspection reveals. I'll see you in Reading!

Well... It took me a long time to get around to rescuing my car from storage. My father's 308 came out yesterday. I helped him with his Ferrari, and he helped me with mine today. It was very interesting driving the two cars back-to-back, and I think I'll post a comparison of the two soon.

The best news of all: I just found the previous owner's receipt from Ferrari of Seattle. It basically says that, after $4363 worth of fine tuning, that the car is in fine shape. I may even type in the service report results, simply because I'm so happy that the car's in good shape.

That still doesn't mean anything for a concours!

Nice time I'm in the Big D, I'd love to see your car.

    Hi, Matt.
I washed the GTC yestesday and then "speed-dried" it. Drove around some back roads for a while at a VERY brisk pace. Pleased to say, it's running beautifully. Only problem is that the battery is staring to show it's age. I will install a new on tonight and then off to a car show at West Chester College tomorrow.

    Should be fun.

LOL, I hear you! Two car garage here. The Lotus and her van get the two spots; my Accord is in the driveway.
