I owned a new 2009 Viper and it was not my favorite car. I bought a new 2013 Viper and wow has it changed. It is still a beast which I love but the handling now feels like a sports car.

Great Job and a heads up to the engineers and designers who did it.

The older cars look a little more aggressive, which I like. The new version has been softened but still a very nice looking car.

I have seen very few of any Vipers on the road and I have never seen a new Viper.

    Best

I put quite a few miles on an 09 ACR and I never liked it. It hunted and darted after every imperfection in the road. The outward visibility had strange blind spots toward the rear that left me feeling like I was going to run into someone or they were going to run into me. As much as I wanted to love that track car for the street, I never was comfortable with it. The engine sounded uninspiring as well. It got louder and the car went faster but it never sounded good. I think a lot of the dartiness came from the alignment and tires and could have been worked out but I never got to that point. Hopefully the new one is better. I will take Lee's word for the goodness of the regular new car. Hopefully they can keep the performance of the ACR but also keep the better feel of this latest iteration.

    Thank you for the confidence.

My 2009 Viper was 603 hp but in my view it may have been 400hp at best. My 2013 Viper has 640 hp and it feels like it has that hp maybe a little more.

My 09 Viper was hot next to the door and the lake pipes. The new Viper does not feel that way.

The old 09 car chassis felt nervous and unsure of itself. It never gave the driver confidence.

The New viper has more and powerful exhaust sound and I love it.

The new car has two suspension setting "street or track" if I am remembering correctly.
Both are stiff and aggressive. Some people may find the ride harsh.

I like it and I am 70 years old. I run track mode all of the time.

It is not as refined as the C7 Corvette but you do not see the Viper on every street either.
By every important measure the new C7 Corvette is a better car. My only caveat it is not a Viper.

The Viper is a uniquely American super-car that handles and performs like it should.

The car is bullet proof concerning Reliability. But most modern cars these days are very good.

    Good luck with your purchase

I live within 15 miles of the two largest Viper dealers in the world so I see my fair share. I wonder what substantial differences are made between this and the T/A 2.0? One of our local dealer's constantly modifying the T/A's to track spec. I wonder if that's a better route than to be an ACR?

omg but it better win every lap time test they throw at it. would be so sad if nismo, gt3rs, z07, etc can even come close. they say the rear diffuser is made to get down to the asphalt to enhance stability! and kumho bespoke tires. that's sick

I won a collection of Vipers as I'm a big Viper fan both of my 2008 ACR and 2010 LS edition are hardcore no radio/Nav speakers and carpet.

And Once I start the engine and go for a ride it brings a big smile to my face, I'm not expecting it to be comfortable or cold which i never experienced such extreme side heat, maybe i got used to it since 2001 lol.

my last is an 2014 TA and it sure drives better and way improved but if I decided to get the new ACR I hope they do a hardcore package.

And with the 1 of 1 program I'm sure it will be interesting.

Was a hand full to drive. My Ferrari would never endure the abuse I put the Viper through. But the Viper needed a lot of traction and handling changes. I have not driven a new model but it sounds as if all my complaints were addressed.

A missing detail I just noticed is no heat shields on the ball joint boots. I've had to wrap those with metallized thermal blanket on all my 'Merican performance cars. On the Euro cars, you'll find nice sheetmetal heat shields around rubber boots that are in proximity of brake rotors.

A lot of car for the money.

At least you do not see these on the road every day.

    In addition, no slush box.

    A focused car for enthusiasts.

My 08 had some road feel but not like my 550 Ferrari. I wonder how the feedback is in the new ARC

They do good work. I have a picture somewhere of 75 or so ACRs and normal Vipers lined up in our other local dealer awaiting delivery.
