Well, fellers, my lovely little 328 is finally back in its nursery. I can't say enough good things about Cavallo Motorsports in Carlsbad, CA. They are extremely professional, courteous, and treat your car as if it were there own. Accordingly, they have an extremely high degree of acumen and, perhaps most importantly, PAY ATTENTION TO THE FINE DETAILS in doing the work on one's car. Five stars for those boys!

So I took a neighbor/friend for a ride tonight and gave him the "blast factor" and he had a grand ol' time! He couldn't believe that our little F-cars can often be had for less than a new Vette. Ain't life grand?!

Anyway...HOPEFULLY, things will be good to go for awhile and I can now start planning for "fun work" like a Tubi, Hyperflow(?), aluminum pedals, etc. Many thanks again to all you fine gents for the support and words of encouragement, and for the empathic stories of your own trials and tribulations with your new F-cars.

I believe I can recoup the parts and service costs for the smogging issues with the car from the dealer that sold me the car, as they know that they really are, legally, on the hook for this. The other aspects of the "major service" and subsequent "issues" iI had with the car I'll likely have to go to greater lengths to recoup. Anyway, I really just want to enjoy my little ride for now, and God knows I've been doing that!

    My best,

    Scott

    Scott,

Glad you got her back working in top shape. Dont forget there are plenty of us on the board who own 328's and Mondials with a plethora of knowledge of our cars after turning a few wrenches and going through many heartaches and busted knuckles.

Have fun with her and congrats.

    -Nate

PS: Take a look at the recent fuel injector thread.

I am in Australia and can relate to, in part what you are going through. I will not bore you with my experience on buying my 89 328 GTS but only to say I am not rich in fact far from it so achieving a Ferrari dream is a big achievement. Hang in there as there are some really genuine Ferrari Mechanics out there that will help you more than if you bought a new, whatever car, because they are cut from the same cloth, so to speak.

It can be fixed and you can enjoy the Ferrari magic that is what we all are on this site for!

Don’t give up and buy a Ferrari copy or a more practical car, Ferrari is not a car it is an experience. The destination is not important; it’s the journey that counts. Yes that means good and bad but no one on this site would change things. What you will find is help and advice because we have all been there in one-way or another!

Sorry for sounding like yoda from star wars but hey life is a terminal condition........no one gets out alive so pursue your dreams. You will get through it and it all makes for good conversation over fine food and wine. Life is what happens while we are busy making other plans so enjoy the journey, even the bad expensive bits !!!!!

    Thanks, fellers :)

Drove it down to Solana Beach (about 100 miles roundtrip) yesterday for Mother's Day. Brought my wife along; it was her first ride in the car since I've owned it; she has about as much interest in the car as I would a new dishwahser... After riding in the car, suffice it to say that she has absolutely no interest in doing it again. LOL! Just wait til I get a Tubi on it!... Anyway, the car performed flawlwessly and I was able to show it to my brother and give him a ride (he's a huge Ferrari guy, too) and he was psyched and impressed, to say the least. It's amazing how pleasurable these cars are to drive; you don't even have to "get on it" (which I do often enough!) to really enjoy the driving experience. In a word, they are simply captivating. Anyway...I will try and get some pics for you soon, but my digital camera just broke, believe it or not! Grief!

    Cordially,

    Scott

How true, some of my best drives are on the back roads where I don't get above 50 mph, just shifting between 3rd and 4th gears. You don't have to be blasting down the highway at 90-100 mph to enjoy these cars,

    Hi Jeff,

I will be down this coming week to have Chris tweak my car's fuel/oxygen mixture and the idle; it's running a little rough on cold start. Will likley be bringing Josh down with me. I've seen you car at Cavallo --- gorgeous :) And I look forward to meeting you.

    My best,

    Scott
