The mention of Mad Max just makes the naysaying more fun! I'm starting a rumor that Peter Windsor is responsible for the fart engines....
The irony is that both Mosley and Ecclestone became popular by challenging Jean-Maris Ballestre and threatening to launch a rival series. They were the poachers who became game keepers. Ecclestone backed Mosley in his bid for the presidency. Once Mosley was elected, Mosley and Ecclestone agreed to share the responsability for F1. Mosley would deal with the administrative and regulations, whilst Ecclestone would control the financial side. The fact that Mosley handed over the financial side of F1 to Ecclestone for 100 years has never been really challenged. That must be the closest thing to the right to print money! The deal seems highly suspicious to many; that's what Mosley is mostly culprit to me. Now, Ecclestone wants to run the technical side, apart from having made an empire and accumulated a fortune out of financial side. Todt must have realised that he has in fact NO power in F1. He just goes through the motions. The FIA and F1 have been very corrupt for the last 25 years at least. It's not the only global organization to be tainted by scandals:the Olympic Committee and FIFA are the same.
Yes I can go with that, it suited Hecklestone to have that rat doing his dirty work, Mosley structured the FIA and election processes always stacked in his favour and in a total unfair unsporting way. I struggled with how Bernie could support/back him up with some issues, however IMO he went to far when the money men got jittery about the way he was ruling the sport and upsetting too many people.
Balestre was a egomaniacal dictator in his little royal fiefdom. Mosley and the Evil dwarf were a march forward. What ? Mosley and the Evil dwarf were a march forward ? I cant believe I just wrote that. True story.
Mosley always did like his sounds muffled. Did he ever disclose the safe word for the predicament that F1 is currently in?
