The invented ceremonies and imported terminology in my view disrespect actual indigenous customs and culture, however they do give a sense of self respect and purpose to people who otherwise spend a lot of effort arguing amongst themselves. Just down from my old servo there's a Murri specific medical/healing/dropin and every other bloody thing centre that cost a few mill and is hardly used. BUT when the local hospital gets inundated,ie in the middle of covid, do you think they offer their services? Answer 1 for yes...and 2 for no. But when the open only 8 hours a day Murri joint is closed where do you think they all end up? Answer 1 for local hospital or 2 for local hospital!

Can you please identify the exact programs are available ONLY to those who identify as indigenous? I ask because when I’ve researched in the past many things that appeared ‘exclusive’ were in fact just ‘rebadged’ eg Abstudy pays exactly the same as ordinary youth/study allowances under the same circumstances. I do agree that it’s the least needy who always manage to milk the most out of any system (just go to any fringe area).
