What a 'hotrod' this'd be to ride: https://www.9news.com.au/national/homemade-ebike-explodes-with-rider-on-it-in-south-australia/577004e8-17fa-463c-accd-6945926b73e3
The big pile of poo in the room about the Aukus thing is our only REAL ally (as in, would actually turn out to stand beside us) is NZ and they have a ‘no nukes’ policy? Have they even been considered in this deal? By the time the first one of these is even started, any shifts in world power will already be over...
Big deal re NZ. Lol, the Chinese will be quaking in their flip flops at the thought of the mighty NZ armed forces coming to our aid. You really think the UK/US would not be involved in a conflict with us v China? it's not just about being "friends"....
Oh they’ll be ‘involved’ and expecting Aus to come to their aid again; same as every conflict of the last 150 years. Aussies sacrificed to protect their assets. Did one single Brit stand to defend Aus in WW2; would there have been a single USA troop in Australia if not for Pearl Harbour? Anyone who thinks the Brits or US would come to OUR aid is in lalaland.
All i know is we and the next few generations will be paying for it.. Sad we seems to be the financial backup for the big boys to fund their agenda..
So why should WE be paying them billions for equipment to protect them? We’ll only need protection if THEY go to war...
I’m the naive one? Which is the only country in the world with a huge defence industry to support? https://chinapower.csis.org/about-us/ US arms industry: $9.3b China arms industry: $759m. That’s a US website btw.
My view.. and my view only 10- 20yrs ago it probably makes sense. These days I think we best use diplomatic approaches to do what is best for us as a nation. There are a few super powers now and from the position of country like India, Singapore etc, they can prosper without upsetting anyone. We should investigate that sort of approaches. Stoking war is not a good direction..
Just our Uranium stocks would be enough for them to turn up and assist let alone the rest of the natural resources The poms only used Australia for testing atomic bombs, at leat the Yanks had the "decency" to blow up the Pacific Islands and their own backyard
India are fighting the Chinese at the borders now ffs, the Chinese are harrassing the Taiwanese now, along with claiming the south China sea, Russia has invaded Ukraine but worst of all my team have to play those Bronco ****s this weekend ............... WWIII ? Small potatoes
Too funny , It's called having NO IDEA of the timelines re The Second World War. Few dates to keep the discussion on the level. Re Britain, why would have Britain come to our aid pre-December 8th 1941 the date The British declared war on the Japanese due to the attacks on British Malaya,HK and Singa . Let's not forget the British had been fighting Solo the Nazi in Europe ALONE. I think they had their own issues defending their Island from Invasion Add to that the Pacific fleet was shot to bits. Regarding America, they only entered the war after the attack on Pearl Harbour, which wiped out the 7th fleet, other words the Pacific Fleet. Was Australia ever in danger of being invaded by the Japanese in 1942? NO While certain hierarchies within the Japanese Navy suggested an invasion it was rejected by The Imperial Japanese Army and the then PM. It has also been suggested it would have weakened the Japanese invasion of Chinah and Munchuria The Japanese did not have the resources re-shipping to dedicate an Invasion of Australia
