Yep thats right, goodbye cruel world........... After driving several cars, examing several posts with pic's of aftermarket seats mounted in 308/328, the verdict is in. No size 42 waist for this model car. I just can't get excited about owning a Mondial or any of those bran cereal's that my wife keeps buying. I am going to see if I can squeeze into a 348, I believe its wider, or its hello "BMW" or "Corvette"
I feel like I belong at table 13 from the Wedding Singer movies, remember those mutants??? My size is the guy who was anxious for the cake to be cut.

or maybe I will fade into the woodwork and try to lose 50 lbs, but I still think that makes me a waist 40".

Big Bird needs weight loss surgery to fit in the seat:(

Unless you'e 7 feet tall, a 42' waist is WAY too fat! I went from a 40' waist to a 34' waist after loosing 42 ponds in less that a year by eating five small meals a day and working out 5 days per week . so, go on a diet, work out 5 times a week and not only will you then be able to drive a Ferrari, you will feel better and live longer too. Good luck..

how tall are you to drop that much waist size??? Yep I think it will be easier to drop the weight then to spend countless hours modifying a seat.

I am 5'11" in bare feet. The weight lose was really easy...you just have to devise a plan and stick to it....its a lifestyle change, not a diet. My plan consisted of : Meals each day; 1st, a Myoplex-Lite shake at 5:30am...it is imperative that you have your first meal within 20 minutes of waking up. 2nd meal, a Myoplex-Lite shake. 3rd meal, eat a low carb lunch such as a grilled chicken sald, grilled fish, grilled chicken breat with green beans or something similar. 4th meal, a Myoplex-Lite shake. 5th meal, eat a good low carb dinner of grilled meat , a couple of veggies and maybe a fruit. Drink nothing but water other than the shakes...no soft drinks or alcohol whatsoever for at least the first 6 months. Work-out schedule, five days a week from 5:45am to 7am consisting of 20 minutes cardio and abs each day and an hour of weight training isolating a different muscle group each day. Mon-chest and triceps; Tues-lower body; Wed-back; Thurs.shoulders; and Fri.-biceps . Have fun...

I've lost 200 lbs......and its FAR from easy. If you can't fit into Ferraris comfortably, I drove Corvettes and NSXs at over 400 lbs. You may be too TALL to be comfortable in older Fcars as well even if you drop 40 lbs.

He wasn't, but his drivers were. Keep in mind Ferrari's heritage. They build race cars. They sell street cars to fund the race team. NO ONE over 6' or 180lbs. is going to fit in an F1 car. The street cars are generous by those standards. The company's marketing has swayed toward street cars more lately and the newer cars have more room.

I fit in both (5'9" 150 lbs.), but I was the last guy picked to play basketball in high school gym class. Can't have it both ways, but I'm glad I fit in F-cars.

Losing weight in general is probably a good idea, but as far as fitting in the cars it also depends on how badly you want to make it work.

I'm 6'4", 230, and I'm probably too big for the 512BB. When I test drove it, I really felt scrunched in there. But now, after a few thousand kms, it fits just fine. I've adapted. Something to consider...

6'-5" 250lbs sporting a 38" waist. need to get back to 35". otherwise i fit fine width wise in most ferrari's, however leg room is a big issue for me, i'm mostly leg and no waist/torso. so the two seater 3X8 are a no go, the mondi fits when i extend the seat all the way back into the leggless passenger.

4yrs ago i tipped the scales at 325lbs and couldn't fit in anything, i startred working out an biking again, along with that wounderfull drug ephedra i went all the way down to 195lbs in 1yr! i've slowly crept back only becouse i havn't been as dilligant with the cardio and i also pack a little more muscle this time. aside from that i miss ephedra, the energy was great.

It didn't make you edgy and emotional? A few years back when lifting more often I tried Ripped Fuel for a few weeks and my emotions went haywire. Rages throwing furniture, breaking down crying for no reason, etc. Only about 3 weeks' use and I had incredible withdrawals for about 3 days when I stopped. I think that is some scary stuff.

I'm up to a 42 right now, and I was able to drive a 328, although my right shin rubs on the dash to get to the pedals.

height / waist is not an indicator of where he should be there are many differn't body types.

I am built like a professional football (U.S.) and fit very comfortable in my 550. I understand the 550 is huge.

I lost 125lbs doing low carb./ exercise. I highly recommended If you can stick with it. Lost 75 in the first 3 months.

itried a few different ones and hydroxycut was least edgy one, ECA was a nightmare! but the hydroxy was the most effective without side effects other than withdrawl wich was bad. and i never cycled it eithier.

I know the ephedra-based stuff was recently unbanned. Is any of it back on the market yet?

    BigBirds4RE,

6'4", 310 lbs - it is not going to happen. Forget about losing weight, get a front engined V-12, you will fit comfortably.

    Regards,

OK, here's the scoop on Ephedra....

It is now legal to sell. Unfortunately, it's still illegal to import so what you're buying now is the old stuff that people hoarded before the ban. The shelf life of Ma Huang (the herb) is short so anything you buy now is useless.

The problem with the herb version was its inconsistancy. One batch would be just right, one too low, another would have you bouncing off walls and cussing like you had Tourettes.

Before the ban, the bodybuilding community turned to Ephedrine HCL, the synthetic form of Ephedra. Because it is used in decongestants, it was never banned. It is very consistantly dosed, and gives you a focused but happy demeaner. I don't know how it is for dieting, since I found Clenbuterol for that purpose. I use the HCL+caffeine for pre-workout energy.

i'm 6' and 150lbs. and i feel the 308 is bigger than the TR. i can fit comfortably in the 308, but just barely make it height-wise in the TR. i thought it would have been the reverse. i've sat in a 355 and it seems pretty roomy in there.

    john
ps. caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, so prolly not a good idea to guzzle it before a workout, especially if you're not fit.

(Said in fun humor) You a$$ is not too big, the dimensions of some Italian sports cars are not appropriate for your stature...

...and about 60% of Americans in general.

Well, the performance of a car is (partially) due to the power-to-weight ratio. Now may be a good time to enhance the performance of a Ferrari by going on a diet. Was up to 175 lbs and am now getting down to my 'race weight' of about 160 lbs and will be escalating my workout regiment.

Side bar: The great news this week, the wife agreed i can remove the AC system. Sweet as we are reaching car weight wet with 1/8th tank of gas and including driver of 2,900 :) EACH lbs saved off the car is a lbs less the engine needs to move PLUS the brakes do not have to work to stop said weight.

My apologies for the rant. Am sooo happy the wife finally agreed to allow mme to remove the nearly useless AC system.

Wow, some amazing weight loss stories and chemical adventures here. How about this new eat-less-damn-food-and-work -your-ass-out-regularly diet? Works great. Six two, 190lbs, 8% body fat, all kinds of energy (just got my wife pregnant with #2 after a LOT of trying), +/- 2lbs or less variation for the last few years. Lots of room in my mondial for me, wifey and the kiddo in the back.
