http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/futurevehicles/new3/images.htm?PIN=S9420598&source=email Well, they ruined the 5 series for me. I'm not quite sure what I expected for the 3 but, DAMN! That is one fugly car. It makes it official. My '01 530 Sport is the last new BMW I'll ever own. CTS-V, here I come! Dave
Wow, they did Bangleize that more than I predicted. Well, looks like Lexus/Merc/Audi/Caddy are gonna have a good year.
LOL! You think that is bad.. In Fortune Magazine, it said BMW is looking to bring a...minivan to the market near the end of the decade...
It is remarkable that they took one of the best brand names in the world and in a very few years have totally driven away the enthusiast base they had cultivated since the 1960's. I hope they find enough non-enthusiast to buy these cars. I bet the MAJORITY will be automatics. Even now its hard to find a 540i manual. I had a 2002 many years ago, and this makes me sad.
Not a US model, I believe its called the V-class overseas. About the 3-series, it is possible the worst of the newest BMWs. However in its defense the others have all grown on me with time, we'll just have to wait and see.
To take the offense, its indeed the worst of the newest models. Am i alone in feeling that as they go down the ranks, the new style only gets worse? I LOVED the old 3 series, the new is the worst I loved/liked the old 5 series, the new is tolerable. I didn't care much for the z3, I love the z4.[top down of course]. I couldn't stand the old 7 series[seemed to long and thin], the new one I loved.
Actually, the Vclass is based off the Vito, a utility van (the european Econoline) ... it's not a minivan, more like a euro-sized passenger Econoline.
I can NOT BELIEVE that good ol' bangle boy is still over there... The seven series I only like in certain colors, the same for the new 5... But in my opinion the 3 series could have stayed the same forever, it was perfect... But now, my god that thing is hidious. Its time for a new designer, NOW.
Wow, I'm suprised at the reaction here. I saw the new 3 on AutoWeek Online earlier today, and thought "hey, now that's not so bad". It's certainly not as bad as the 5 is.
Is it just me or does it look like the Acura TSX in the shot on that page? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Unfortunately, us drivers are in a smaller group than the "fashionable" people. Too bad the clueless have too much disposable income.
I think it's gonna be a hit. Check out the stats in the press release. 255hp, magnesium (lighter than aluminum) parts!!! Michael.
Steady on, the Acura is a great looking cleanly styled car. Currently the Japanese manufacturers are getting it right ... the Europeans wrong! Pete

Let me preface by saying I don't care about Bimmers one way or another. I've always thought they were cool, but never been obsessed, like I have with another certain marque. Since when did "Bangle" become an adjective or an adverb? And what did this guy Chris Bangle do to warrant such HUGE hatred from car enthusiasts everywhere? And why do I even know his name? It's like one of those celebrities, for instance Joe Rogan, who does NOTHING but yet I know who he is. The styling isn't that bad, in my opinion. I think most people just like saying the word Bangle because it sounds funny. "Hey dude, that chick is ugly." "Yeah man, she's like Bangled." A question for all the uk guys: If the BMW chief of design puts a limited edition leather tool kit in the trunk of a BMW, are the contents called Car Bangled Spanners? Don't worry, if you don't get it, it's not yours to have.
