Just got the e-mail annoncement from Ferrari owners website. fj0 got it right (from the 575 replacement thread http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=135473935&postcount=1166) http://img373.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ferrari014go.jpg http://img373.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ferrari024xm.jpg http://img373.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ferrari031uo.jpg
Me too.......can one of the mods change the thread title however to "It's the Officially Ugly F399GTB".......? It looks like an Italian iteration of a Corvette that cross bred with a Nissan.......
at first i did not like it but now that thing does not look all that bad. I'd buy it. ps: got any interior pics?
Looks like they took alot of design clues from one of their uglyest cars ever made the 612.Not very sporting looking, whats with the pointed pentagram wheels Ferrari practicing witchcraft now? Granted you can't do much with the front engine set up designwise but this car looks like it should have been a 2+2, one positive thing is it won't get much attention on the street from people. It really grabs you, and will be a poster on every teenagers bedroom wall like other Ferrari V12 supercars in the past Another good thing they'll be cheap in a few years as they are going drop like a rock in value after its released.
Not since the TR(512) have I had such an unmitigated revulsion of a new Ferrari design. I similarly can't find one compelling element. ...Maybe the wheels, they just might have been on to something with the wheels, but they didn't quite finish the thought. As someone else said, it looks like a Banglized Z-car... Much like the TR looks like a Supra done by Mistubishi and Liz Taylor's bartender. I guess they need to need to grunt out one of these turds every twenty years, to remind the world of their otherwise fantastic and all but faultless record of sublime designs. I, for one, wish PininFarina would begin hiring Italians once again. (Just one man's opinion, keep your Kool-Aid to yourselves.)
The email I received today from the Ferrari factory owner's site states it as "The 599 GTB " not 399. Are you sure about this 399? Gotta agree on this one, with the exception as a Miami Vice prop car.
Ugh Theres another great reason to buy a new Z06 or Murcielago or Porsche CGT or AM DB9 Fugly I loved Ferrari because they once made the worlds most beautiful cars. Now I see those days are truly gone, Shame
Its 599 GTB and I kinda like it. Of course it is gold to get the ´GTB´ designation back. Not sure about the ´599´ though, but it won´t take long before we don´t know any better. I say, welcome in this world young Ferrari with the superior specs.
I like it some of the lines remind me of the 365 Daytona. I think it will grow on people in time. The wheels are f-ugly.
Disagree. Ferrari has just shown that they don´t need to keep searching in the past to design their current cars, like Ford has done with their GT and Lamborghini with their Miura-concept. Instead, Ferrari showed some balls by daring to look for new sollutions in both aerodynamics and styling. It may not be to anyone´s liking, but that is just a circumstance that comes with being gutsy in that department, and as such, there will also people who do like it.
I like it. And just like the Daytona when it first came out, this one is not welcome by many enthusiasts. I bet time will change that. Witchraft wheels. Great moniker. It's the Wiggen Ferrari. They go hand in hand with the coffin wheels on the Stratos...
Can you please help me out with that? I see Z-06, I see 350Z, I see Transformer: I don't see any PininFarina at all. ...And what's with the flying butresses? Yes, I know they pre-sage the Fioravanti-top version, but what's with the flipping flying butresses?
I find it a little different to incorporate little hints to the past, rather than just an entire re-styling of an (lets face it) old car.
I'd love to get the official brochure of the car. I was lucky and got the one for the 430 and it is a masterpiece of marketing: They show the car with pictures of their past race cars (particularly Sharknose F1) and you see the styling clues, aka breeding. Looking at the 599 GTB I can see already a bunch of clues including the Daytona hood.
