This is crazy! For the last couple of weeks, acorns have been falling from the oak trees at my house like never before, but last night and this morning was crazy! We had our first freeze last night and these half-ounce nature bombs are falling out of the trees like hail balls! My truck's hood caught one this week that prompted a call to the Dent Doctor!

I swept the master bedroom deck yesterday and here's what it looked like this morning! Anyone else experiencing this where you live?

dude here in Florida we have pine cones and sap, the pine cones cause the dents, and the sap if left on the car too long never comes off......

I know sap too! We get it real bad around April. Shoes off in our house! Also, the larger pine cones can kill a person who's karma is not up to snuff!

I spent more time than I care to admit dealing with acorns this holiday weekend. Pine cones and sap too. The worst part of the acorns is they get stuck in the cracks in the deck. I had one last year that actually sprouted there.

Yup, it's a heavy mast this year. Acorns are cyclical like many things in the living world. The animal population grows on heavy oak masting years and reduces likewise.

Why do you think squirrels collect them? They particularly like the commemorative state quarters, they put them in those cardboard quarter holders.
