    Hi everyone,
For the past few months, I've been thinking about purchasing another car with a lot more sporting character than my Mercedes when I'm finished school. I just want something to take out and enjoy, so practicality isn't my primary concern.
I've driven quite a few good cars, and was leaning towards a Porsche 986S. Ferrari never even entered my mind with the lack of performance for the money and cost of ownership turning me away.
Last weekend, I got a call from my financial planner, asking me if I liked Ferraris, obviously I said yes, so he told me that he would see me in about an hour. I was a little confused. When he finally arrived, I was shocked to see him in an '89 328 GTS. It was white, not exactly my favorite or typical Ferrari color, but it was nice for a change.
I have been to various Ferrari dealerships, and seen, heard and sat in various models, but this was my first ride. It was unbelievable. Then when we got back to my house, he said those five words every Ferrari lover wants to hear, "Do you want to drive?" That was one opportunity I wasn't going to pass up.
That was enough to convert me. The screaming engine, the steering, the feel of the car, that wonderful gated shifter, absolutely everything was beyond description. It wasn't by far what could be called a 'fast' car by modern performance standards, but it was the first car I drove where that didn't matter at all. I know the car wouldn't appeal to everyone, but to me it was the epitome of driving pleasure.
Now I understand why people go so crazy over Ferraris.
Instead of the 986S, I'm now thinking about a Ferrari, any Ferrari really. For what the car has to offer, the cost of ownership should be well worth it. With a PhD in sight, well really it's so far away right now I can barely see it, I'll be waiting a long for it, but it will be more than worth it.
Sorry the post was so long, but I'm still so excited about the car after almost of week, and probably will be for a long time.

Nice to have you here Damien. Ferraris get into your blood like a venerial disease that you might catch at your college from those damn sorority girls. You have now jumped to the dark side like a college co-ed experimenting with lesbianism. Good luck.

I made sure I got a few photos to remember the experience. I'll probably end up framing them. You only get one first Ferrari drive.
The owner is a great guy. Without him, I'd still be ignorant to what Ferraris have to offer.
