Just got the car out of storage this morning. The drivers outside push button door handle worked fine but upon trying to get out the inside pull up door handle was stiff then broke! Now moves up and down but doesn't release the door. Does anyone have any tips on what to do. I guess a cable has snapped or come lose. I would really like to fix it myself as I'm leaving on a driving holiday on Friday.
If anyone could post some tips or even a set by set guide, or where I could find a step by step guide on getting the door apart to fix the prolem.
    Many Many thanks inadvance.

Could be the cable, could be the hinge thing, or hopefully, it's the crappy little clip #53. Take it apart and have a peek.

I would bet the part that failed is included under the item#31 "umbrella" and is the cylindrical shaped part right behind the outer housing. This is a plastic part that seems to be the week link in the system. Ferrari used to sell "pushbutton kits" for about $300 but have discontinued them so they can sell the entire pushbutton assembly for $729. We have 3 of the L/H assemblies in stock (62108810) but are out of the L/H kits (70000655).

I'm with Ernie and Daniel on this one. #53 eventually loses the ability to "clamp" in the hole provided for it. You can take the cable out and reinstall the clip, but it won't stay. Just replace it. The reason for the failure is people not lubricating their latch mechanism and the strain on the cable is too much for the clip, but once the clip falls out, it's NFG.

I'm going with a broken cable. Rusted through, deteriorating, busted. What horsey is that? Easy fix, but be careful taking all that apart or you'll jick something else up. Take two Tylenol for your back before you start.

There's a quick check to see if its part of #31.

If you cannot open the door by pushing the exterior button in on the door handle its #31. - I would go with part #53 since is connected to the interior door handle. This should open the door even if #31 is broken. I know from bitter experience.

I had a similar problem and as it turned out - it was the door striker! but now you're in a catch 22 situation because you have to be able to open the door to examine. After various attempt, I found that by slightly banging your hip against the door and pulling the inside handle up at the same time, I was lucky enough to get it open.

    Good luck!
