Is the hole in the body to insert the jack just a simple hole cut in the metal or is there a little inward return to reinforce the hole? Looks like on my project Dino this has been repaired before on both sides and I am not sure if the repair is true to the original jack hole.

No return. Just a hole. Don't ever use the Dino jack. Keep the hole for appearance. Jack dumps car and dents side if car moves in any direction but up. Buy a scissors jack at a local bone yard and put the Dino jack in semi permanent storage until you sell the car.

Thanks for the reply John. I actually used the original jack once 23 years ago and still remember how shakey the contraption was. It has been strictly a trunk ornament ever since.

Is there supposed to be a rubber, plastic, or other cap for the jack hole, or is it simply left open?

    Many thanks.

There is an interior tube that mates with the jack, the body work ends at the hole and is not intended to be structurally supportive.

It is left open, there is no cover like the 250 series of Ferraris had.
