Interestingly enough, I have met JV on a number of occasions. He is always friendly and polite. I would go so far as to describe him as being humble. So, these comments are just so much at odds with the guy I know. Yet, I can't deny that his printed comments are just weird.
Wow, I take it all back. JV is a genius, the Michael Jackson of Formula One. He really does know everything and accomplish anything. A true champion of sports, and art. ...I think I'd rather listen to Eddie Jordan play the 27 minute version of Ina Gadda Da Vida on drums solo.
I don't like Jacques and never did, but I have a certain amount of empathy for him. Having a famous and successful parent is both a blessing and a curse. Jacques undoubtedly made the most of the blessing side of things with what success he has had in racing, with nowhere near the talent his father had. On the other hand, he has obviously not handled the personality side of the equation very well. Instead of being grateful for what he has gained from riding his father's coattails, he seems bitter about what he is not, that being...his father.
