http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/05/06/jaguar-c-x75-belle-of-the-paris-auto-show-to-enter-production/ Over 200 mph, 0-60 sub 3 seconds... The bad news: $1.1M. But that's a beautiful car, except for the chromed/oversized show-car wheels which don't look very Jaguar-esque. Let's hope this kind of design/innovation makes it into regular production Jag sports car at some point.
If pre-production promises are as accurate as the xj220,... it'll be delivered with a flat-6 (two ta-ta 3's mated together) and 2 electric fans.
I would be happy with a Jag sports car with existing technology.. the XKR is a porker and a GT. Sure, there are heavy sports cars, like the 911 Turbo and GTs like the Nissan GTR for example, but the XKR is not in this league. I thought my old XJR at 4100lbs was a porker for a sports sedan, check out that new XJR and XFR, jeez!
I agree -- Jag should have built the F-Type instead of abandoning the sports car market. Shameful to neglect its heritage that way.
Very happy about this. We are, IMHO, in a dark age for sports car design. Not very many gorgeous cars out there. This Jag can join the Maser GT, Alfa 8C and AM DBS on the short list of beautiful cars being produced today.
I'm maybe an outlier, but the Maser GranTurismo isn't very pretty to me. I don't think this Jag looks very great either.
