I personally really like the looks of the new lightweight coupe unveiled and that will likely be the XK8 successor. There is a potential to shave off some body fat and really turn the XK8 into the car it should have been. That will remain to be seen, however.

The looks are very Aston Martin like and I believe while a striking car, its loosing some of its identity.

You can see an album of pictures here.

I think that it looks pretty nice, but it doesn't beat the XK8 in looks. If it takes over the XK8 line then I wounder what the XKR would look like?

i can't imagine those are for real. or that they'll ever see the light or pfoduction. the lines are MUCH too aston - they'd hammer the crap out of the aston brand if they did that. FoMoCo already figured out how badly they screwed up with the prior aston/jag mistakes last time around (and jag/ford). i i assume this is just pure concept thrown together at a room at aston 'cuz they needed something for the show.

    we'll see....

    doody.

some Azz said it was very E type. The only thing remotely E type is the snatchback & the kitty

The DB9 is MUCH better looking than this thing so no worries there

Looks all Jag to me. They need to build a car like this, at least as a halo vehicle. The brand's image is sagging right now. Any specs? I wonder how lightweight it will really be. I doubt they can get it under 3000lbs.

I think its headed to production, fellas.

    XK Spyshots
    AMV8
    DB9

Seems Mr. Callum has been given the go ahead to start designing Jags like Aston's if it will help sales. Tsk, tsk. Keep in mind its this man with Fisker backing him up who designed the DB7, DB9, and the Vanquish and designs for Jaguar now. It would have been easy money to bet the new XK would be Aston like.

Jaguar won't break even until 2007 and are approx 340 million pounds in debt. They need a breakthrough soon. The only way to do that is blistering performance with a sexy shape, its what put them on the map, its what they desperately need, and frankly I don't think Ford Motor Co. is doing enough to ensure this happens even if its really a baby Aston or under 3,500lbs.

Koby is right, they need a halo vehicle, they need something that performs as good as it looks and they are going to have to gamble at this stage to make it happen.
