Good for Buick. That will be short-lived for Jaguar considering all the issues with their new car.

This is nothing new. Buick has always been one of the most reliable cars out there.

My low mileage 1994 LeSabre says otherwise. ;)

all joking aside, I've been pleased with every Buick I've owned.

Ninja edit: except the x-body Skylark. That was a disgrace.

Glad to see Lexus bruised. They've been "number one" for too long. Perhaps JD Powers got less of a kickback from Toyota this year?

It was for 3 year old cars.

Who wants to compare a 10 year old Lexus to a 10 year old Jag?

    Jag makes my loins ache.

Although, technically, I'm not sure what a loin is.

Just goes to show you that Toyota is full of it.

Jaguars been in my family for years. My first family Jaguar was an XK150..then Mk X..then XJ6 Series1!
I was the local dealer for the introduction of the X300, XK8 and the S type and now on my second Jaguar, XJ8 3.5 SE.
I am really pleased they un-seated Lexus. May be for one year but I am pleased that finally they got some recognition for their work/efforts. Only wish Nick Scheele/ Jim Pacdilla?/Geoff Lawson( dec.) are still there to see the years of their labor finally paid off. The new XFR and the soon to launch revised XJ and the F Type sportster , with the investment from Tata, Jaguar may still be on the come back trail after years of drifting under Ford and J. Nasser's infamous PCD. Grouping with Aston, Rovers, Mazda, Lincoln and Volvo and heading nowhere except the posh office at Berkley Square in London.
Lexus is still a great brand but it lacks passion and soul!!! Sorry for saying that. I am also owner/ex-dealer of Acura. NSX is still a great car, but compared to Ferraris/Porsches/Aston etc, same as a Lexus.

What is your problem with Toyota? I think they make boring cars and I am not interested in defending the automaker, but I would love to hear your point of view.

I had a friend who used to work for Toyota R&D - Lexus. He said they jokingly called themselves the "Ripoff & Duplicate" dept. Basically they took ideas or features already offered on European Luxury cars and put them in the Lexus, and then marketed them as "new ideas." Got to give them credit for marketing though, seeing as how any Lexus is really just a luxury marketed Toyota.

With Buick, I think that the owners die of old age
    before most problems crop up.

I would hope not but I don't believe your point is incorrect. Age plays a part in expectations. Buicks remain horrible but their door handles are perfect if you're wearing woolen mittens, Catpeople are probably ecstatic their remotes now work in humid conditions and the Lexii folks are probably upset the sunroof mechanism isn't 7 speed.

Lexus perplexus; creating the same passion in driving as Daewoo. Give me the Jag and a cell any day.

Absolutely true. Both BMW and Mercedes pioneered many of the technological advancements that Lexus would put in their cars two years later. But, give it to their marketing depts. BMW and Mercedes did not announce the advancements but Lexus let the world know their cars now had them and let the world think they invented them. Bad marketing by the Germans, great advertising by the "imitators".

I would add Infiniti to the list of imitators who market better than BMW/Benz. I thought my M35 had resurrected the Tucker's moving headlight... but it was actually BMW who brought it back a year earlier!!!
