I have a Jaguar spanner from an original tool set to give away for free to the first person yelling "here" and not asking for photos . One side it says "Jaguar", on the other one "Carrington". It is rusty, but can be cleaned without significant loss of substance. It is vintage, but I do not know to which tool set it belongs. Germans please simply PM me the address, I will send with postage borne at my end. Other Europeans would need to pay my out of the pocket expenses by sending me the correct amount of stamps. I really do not need that item, but cannot throw anything away . And I do not want to take my time for any kind of "marketing". Cheers, Bernhard
HERE!!! Ok, I just realized you are in Europe - if it's a pain to ship to the States, give it to someone else...
Hi, If you did not already agree to post it overseas? Yes, I live in Finland, but have a couple of cars in Germany (and am in Switzerland at the moment) where a good friend of mine (also Finnish) lives. PM me if ok and I'll give his home address in Frankfurt am Main. Cheers! Pekka T. Fin. Ps. But I would love to buy you a beer or something on some road trip of mine, regardless of spanners...
Sorry both of you, the first one yelling was via PM, " Yesterday, 07:20 PM". It goes to the US, by the way, the postage to the US did not seem to distract, payment proposal was by bill and not stamps . Cheers, Bernhard Pekka, great idea, thank you. In view of the fact that you unfortunately lost this "race" , I suggest to do it the other way around, I will buy you a beer if you give me an upfront notice when you visit the Berlin area and we can have a look into my garage . Cheers, Bernhard
Hi, Sure, I will keep that in mind. I've typically visited Berlin once or twice a year. Yes, probably postage for a single spanner to the US was no biggie. Cheers from Lech am Arlberg! Pekka T. Fin.
Hi All (Germans), This might be of interest with respect to mailing costs of small items to the US. To my surprise "small parcels" (Päckchen) below 0.5 kg can be sent as "letter" to the USA with DHL and the costs, including tracking, are less than 7€! As priority mail! And average run times of 3-5 days. At least in the international mailing a "letter" needs not to be flat. This is a cheap alternative to the small parcel (Päckchen), which would have cost about 16€ to the USA, and without tracking (!). I am amazed to learn this, thanks to the kind DHL guy at the desk. Since the fellow receiving the spanner has already put a 20 $ bill in the mail for the anticipated small parcel costs, I will have to look for a 10 $ bill for returning to him his significant overpayment of mail costs *loooool*. Or send him a 10 € bill? Cheers, Bernhard
Bernhard, Oh no you won't! Tens don't work here..they have to go to eleven..to work right..to hit the right level..only an eleven would do. So if you have an eleven, that would work..but then I'd need to send a six back..and that's complicated. So for simplicities sake, let's leave the spanner in the gears for now and count our pizzas even. Big cheers, RE Ps,go buy pekka that beer,he gave me good advice so I sorta owe him...it's payback in a way.
OK, then give me your fax number. I will stuff a nice hot pizza into our fax machine and it should then arrive instanty and just as hot at your place. Just place a dish underneath your fax at the right time, so that the dog does not get it accidentally.
Har, And oh how they love pizza, especially if it falls on the floor, cheese side down. But this I gotta see! A printer pizza! From chef Von Der Bernhard...too special And I may use this spanner as the hot pizza from the oven removal tool... Can't wait...cheers, RE Image Unavailable, Please Login
By the way, 3D printing of food is a modern "hot" technology (seriously, see The Future of Food Technology ? 3D Printed Food | Technivorz), so if your fax machine has reservoirs for dough, tomato, salami, mushrooms, cheese and spices, it might even work out .... . Those dogs do look pizza-hungry ... Cheers, Bernhard
Hi, Seriously (and I seem to have problem with people taking *me* too seriously) speaking I did see the last time I was in Berlin at IFA, several 3D printers printing food! And talking about dogs, I'm immune to those looks. As a kid I grew up with a cockerspaniel (from age 3 to age 18) and man, did she ever look hungry!!! But yes, print a pizza and bake it and drop it on the floor and you sure know what's going to happen! Cheers, Pekka T. Fin.
Hi Ralph The image of President Jackson has arrived today, many thanks. The spanner still seems to be in Frankfurt, according to the tracking infos of the German PO as well as the US-PO. Hopefully not being investigated as to potential misuse . If GSG-9 here and HS over there appear at our places, someone has become concerned about this strange old fashioned analog tool ... . Cheers, Bernhard
Von Der Bern, Spanner here..3/7/16,11:30 est..arrived in fine fettle..very handsome, very true Jag graphic..wonderful patina. ..(if you see any old MB toolies,I'll be here).. Again,I bestow upon you the honorific title:Scholar and Gentleman. Cheers, RE ..photographic witness,i.e. positive proof.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Puh Ralph, With your photo and in hindsight I am happy of having elected the luxury of using a brand new and completely unused kitchen paper for packing! . Do not make be blush and have fun! Cheers, Bernhard
