    Will there ever be another supercar from Jaguar? Ford took to the Ford GT, it'd be great to see something develop out of that in the Jaguar line... XJ-270 anyone?

    I doubt it. They lost their shirts on the XJ220, which ended up being a sales flop after the pulled the V12 and put in the V6. New ones languished for years in showrooms/warehouses.

    Of course, they might do it properly the next time and not misdesign the chassis for the size of engine they promise, but I think that Ford is not going to let them to go making a supercar.

    Ford is sucking wind and is likely to downsize the herd. Jaguar has not brought the return they wanted. It may be for sale or ? If Jaguar ever builds anything else really wonderful, it's not likely any time soon.

    Doubt there will be a supercar, but I am sure that in the next year or two the XKR will get the new 5.0L 500hp supercharged engine that is debuting in the 2008 XJR. Should make for a nice upgrade in performance!

    Sadly, you're all just confirming my doubts. The XJ-220 is the car that got me hooked on cars... It's just so attractive to me. I've always been a fan of Jags, and although Ford is under some financial strain, wishful thinking injected fantasies of better days into my mind.

    For now, I'll just have to dream!
