Saw one today and well it was nice! I've always loved these cars as does my father so I might be able to convince him to join in on getting one. Locally there is a 91 for sale and within a days drive their is a 96 (I prefer this one because its green and lower mileage but its also 9k)

Any info/help would be great. Need to get down there and have a look/take a spin

After looking at a '94 XJ6 and a '94 BMW 5 series I picked the BMW. Both had similar mileage.

The Jag had oil leaks, the Bimmer did not.

There was play in the front end of the Jag. The Bimmer is tight.

The XJ's have a problem with leaky window gaskets front and rear. The trunk showed evidence of that.

The drivers footwell in the Jag was cramped, squeezing my right foot over towards the brake pedal.

Cabin ergonomics fit me much better in the Bimmmer.

    I am 6"2" 225 lbs.

The Jag drove okay but but didn't handle as good as the Bimmer.

Unless the onboard computers are grossly inaccurate the gas mileage on the Jag around town was 14.5 versus the 20 MPG in the Bimmer.

The Bimmer delivered better power through it's 5 speed ZF automatic than the Jag through it's 4 speed GM. The Jags engine is bigger.

After putting both up on the rack and doing an inspection my conclusion was that the BMW is a better engineered car, at least mechanically. Layout of components and accessability is much better on the BMW.

These are just my own personal observations. After making the caomparison I couldn't see not getting the Bimmer.
