I wanted to share some pictures of a new cover for the XK8/XKR. It looked sweet enough to share. What do you think? Be honest.

It pays homage to similiar covers on old British (and others) race cars of old through some custom handiwork.

Looks nice if you like those covers.

When I had my XK8, I never used the cover as it was a PITA. The interior of the top paid for this by getting dirty but was worth it. I would love to see a Factory Hartop like Arden offers or a stow away convertible.

Whats this factory hardtop you speak of?
I just got a XK8 but really don't like a soft top when driving with the top up.

Is it a shiny plastic? I'd prefer a richer cloth look, like the OEM top material.

A tonneau on the XK8 somehow doesn't look right IMHO.
Also doesn't seem to fit too well. Nice idea though.

It's vintage cool but it would be more fitting on a roadster not a DHC. I like that someone has actually done it though!

There is no factory hardtop. However, Arden of Germany offers a really nice one. I was quoted about $3500 plus painting about 4 years ago.

You can see it in the banner at:

Nice. Probably would be better off as more sun/weather-resistant cloth though.

Does look a bit odd, although tonneaus are great accessories - saves a lot of wear on the top/mechanism, also bird bombs on the seats.

I think thats really the main reason, to do one just because he could.

It's zippered and not waterproof because of that, so its a fair weather toy, err accessory. Out here that could be 250+ days of potential use.

Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming!

Oh that hard top looks good. Got a bit of the TVR Cerbera about it.
