New Jersey Title, it's ELA12099, dated 21st June 1986 with 14970miles, got it per Mail from Gullwing.
They wrote their is a lot of interest, perhaps less when you look at the Pictures from below... or the right door: https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4388/36515501673_76b1f04a4e_k.jpg https://www.flickr.com/gp/gullwingmotorcar/8DDi95
man there is a lot of corrosion on that engine. i wonder if it even turns over. 70k is a healthy number for it i think but i hope that they get that much.
Does anyone know what kind of finish or paint is used for the black area on the wheel arch area of the body in front of the rear wheels found on some Jalpas? It appears to be some type of rubberized paint to protect the area from rock chips
the famous HLA12355, Looks like it got some Attention http://www.autosportdesigns.com/inventory/images/2181/lamborghini-jalpa-1987
I have those (black on white) on my Jalpa. It is a textured sticker (with adhesive on the back), but doubt they were ever original. The shape is very similar to the ones on Porsche 930. Search for "Porsche stone chip guards". Laust
Anyone knows this one here? https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/lamborghini/jalpa/1966779.html
Has somebody contact to Peter Mollema, the son of the dutch Club president Jent Mollema? He used to own JLA12420, the highest jalpa VIN (and having a letter from 1989 that this one is the last), would be interested to get the Body number.
To shed some more light in the Bodynumber vs. VIN MIstery, the highest Jalpa VIN #420 has Body #407. Now how comes the factory claims that 416 have been built... the last one either being 419 or 420, with so far highest bodynumber 407. Many Jalpas got rebagded with different VIN's I have proof of many examples, questions over questions. It Looks like the infamous days did not end with the MImrans.
You should not expect the number stamped on the left turret to match the VIN stamped on the right turret as they are not related. Can you please tell me where the factory claims that 416 cars were built?
That's for sure, the idea was to match this bodynumber (most likely stamped by bertone) with the VIN's to find out how many exist. I can remember have seen the number 416 in several places, it obviously never fit the the Vin's. The person owning DLA12028 was btw. the guy who stamped the Vin's on the right side, he was working on the Jalpa production line. Had a nice Chat with him at concorso in Neuchatel, his son translating from english to italian and back, my spoken italian is too bad for a conversation but I understood almost everything he told.
Perhaps he will have told you that DLA12028 does not have any number stamped on the left turret... Meanwhile there are two 'last' Jalpas... The car with the highest vin is JLA12420/407 The car with the highest body number is JLA12419/410, the yellow car in the museum.
That counts only for the very early example, and the owner of DLA12028 wasn't even aware of this, since he stamped the Vin's. THE last Jalpa - 419 vs. 420 reminds me of the discussion about the last built Miura SV, I personally don't care since I don't own any of the two. Especially the very first examples are hardly known, CLA12001-3 are known but then... I wonder if they got re-VIN-ed and sold later. BTW: Stefano Pasini mentions in one of his books 410 Jalpa's produce + 1 Spyder. The Spyder which we all know was the former Silhouette 40058, which was changed into the Jalpa Prototype, which turned into being the silver Spyder which is now present in the Museum in Funo wearing CLA12001 and the ugly F348 front spoiler. But what about the second Spyder which was present 1986 side by side with CLA12001 in the factory...

If the second Jalpa Spider was based on a standard Jalpa body it would have had a body number and the supposed quantity of Jalpas built will be reduced by one...
This photo was taken when the French club was at the factory in 1986, on the photo I could see that the second spyder used a late type body that appeared in 1986 so we have to find one unknow car from this year...
After we need to know , this one was not a car that was used and after modified in spyder like 12001 but a new car...
Absolutely Eric, from all the number I can remember these might be some hints: Pasini says 410 produced highest identfied by now #410 Highest VIN: 420 I think to remember to have seen the number 416 built somewhere but Need to dig out the source. Funny stories known so far: CLA12001 without Body number since Silhouette Chassis 2nd spyder on 1986 Body - Vin/Body/Existance ??? HLA12350 is rebadged ELA12162 CLA12067 was CLA12014 Patrick Mimran's Jalpa is badged ELA12014 instead FLA12211 is badged GLA12211 - F can be seen under the G, normally G start at vin 256 HLA12275 is another odd year VIN - H normally starts at VIN 341. Hugest difference between VIN and Body identified so far: HLA12348/#317 no Picture gotten yet, could be 347.
Later than expected year letters are usually caused by delayed consignment and are of secondary importance...
