A great step - easy to implement too.. A definite recommendation, for the stock configuration. Id implement that just to save on parts as those rotors are getting harder to find and expensive. The dealer here has them at about $600 a rotor. I do see that cars with warped rotors will over time also develop dried / overheated wheel bearings. So by having ducting, one may have not only saved a rotor but gained more wheel bearing life at the same time.. Im not saying that happens all the time, but it is more apparent over time.. I havent seen too many issues with the rears on Jalpas sometimes mild warping, and the emergency cable giving away, usually due to corrosion of the cable in the jacket. Not sure if they arent lubed regularly, or if the heat of everything bakes the grease out that was in there . On a different note, overall, Its rather nice to have a car that has a great front to rear weight distribution out of the box: not only does it help braking, but makes everything more fun..
What is the difference between these and the ones on a S1 Countach? They look the same to me, but some say they are different.....
Countach is 8 1/2 front, rears are 12s. Jalpa are 8 or 8 1/2 front, rear are 11s. Offset may be off too.
very nice i like them in white how much $$$?? i had seen many asking 40k euro and more ...but i do not see any sell for this amount
Emilio, No I didn't bought it as my 1st Lambo purchase was a white Jalpa back in my stay at Dallas-FW in 1990, and I'm expecting to buy a Gallardo again this year. It sold for 50.000 with new head gaskets & a full service before delivery. Not too bad compared to present market trends...
well, my first drive in a lambo was on my fother's 1983 jalpa it was red though 50k euro is a very good result, more than i aspected
I was embarassed when the potential buyer came to me looking for advise about my Jalpa experience... I didn't know what to answer about price market in order to not blow up the deal between seller and buyer... always trying to be reserved !
I sat in a black/black Jalpa today. The engine was running. It sounded nice. It was the first time I sat in a Jalpa. In a few days, I should be able to drive it. It is a U.S. car. Few people know about this scarce car.
i think you will like it Ralph sound is nothing short of gloriuos at 5k-6k rpm ...a thunder noise the car is softer than a countach, driving position easier to live with...etc... but still much more direct-old school than a p-steering diablo...a raw car you can drive all the days its biggest fault: weack brakes, front light over 100 mph and it laks some 50 hp to be fast enough imo
I had mine out today. Sometimes I think about how rare that thing is, pretty amazing. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Any comments on this car? I spoke with seller this afternoon. Sounds too good to be true. http://cgi.ebay.com/Lamborghini-1985-Lamborghini-Jalpa-3-5L-V8-Manual-/120617230925?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1c1558e24d
I remember someone (Raymond or Kevin) asked here for Jalpa prototypo sitting at Dosso to be identified... so I've tried without success as you can see... and have a look a front spoiler, how does it look ? Yes, that was me, btw there should be a safety engine lid opener in the trunk at the left upper edge...
