James' Display cabinet and Ferrari models

    I had some time to kill tonight so I thought I would share some pictures of my ever expanding Ferrari collection. The case was purchased from a local furniture store and I have fitted extra shelves to it to make better use of the room available. The cabinet has a mirrored back which adds depth to the display, I have tried to capture this in some of my photo's below. It also has 2 halogen lights.

    Currently there are 40 1:18s in the cabinet with 3 waiting to go in and a further 10 on there way to me including a 599 courtesy of our friend nopassn (Thanks buddy) A few of the models in this case were collected by me while I was a young child and they hold sentimental value that prevents me from removing them from the case even though the quality of them is far below the quality of others. However with the arrival of the new models some of the old ones may find themselves in another display case overlooking my 1:1 model in the garage.

    I hope you enjoy looking at the photo's, i intend to keep updating this thread as more models arrive from around the world.

    Hi Joseph, thank you for your kind words. I have tried many combinations for layout within the display case and i am still not completely happy with the current arrangement. Part of the hobby for me is to rearrange the models from time to time. Take care my friend. James.

    Thanks Pap, I am surprised how well some of the photo's came out, I haven't used macro in nearly a year.

    Still searching for a 348 to make a model of your beast mate, when i do you will get a knock on the door from the post man. :)

    Cheers mate! It will go right next to my 599 you got me. :D:D

    I am holding back on starting an awesome model collection like you and everyone else has, because I do not want to have HEAPS of them if I ever decide to move from here. I will have to pack them all away and then organise safe shipping of them and the glass cabinets etc.... :):)

    When I move into the house I want to spend the rest of my life in, then I will go NUTS with everything Ferrari and Metallica. :D:D

    Hey Andy, Thank you. The 250LM is HW and the 348 is 1:18 also (everything in this cabinet is 1:18) and if you are looking at the one with the race stickers on it? That is Bbuargo. (sp?)

    I reckon you are right about GG there also. He will be taking his date out in the 348, while Pap is taking his wife Nicole out on a date. :p:p

    I better convince his Dad to get a Ferrari, so he can wreck Dad's Ferrari, not Uncle Pap's. :D:D

    Thanks Robbie, one day I hope to have my garage set up as nice as yours so i can display all my models along side my cars. Your garage is inspiration for me to get mine sorted out. :) Not sure i will catch up to your level of collecting, I am now having to source all my models from overseas, our local shops only stock the same old stuff. Means i have to buy in bulk to off set the shipping costs. :D

    Thanks mate, the TR is made by Hot Wheels. The casting is noticeably smaller than the bburgo sitting next to it :)
