O carro foi vendido em Septembro 1980 Em Düsseldorf ( GTS Nao GTSi ) 4. As Rodas 16" x 6" frente 16"x7" Tras. Ou igual? 5. O que " offset " e recommended ~ 55? Eu daria uma grande obrigacao por a ajuda que dessem ! You can respond in English if you would prefer ! ( this took me 20 minutes!!) Rampa.
Hi Rampa, - The original specs should be 205/55 VR 16 for the front and 225/50 VR 16 for the rears. - 16" x 7" front, 16"x8" back - you can try to convince the authorities that they got it wrong in the documents, but I wish you good luck. However, you have factory documents that state what is original for your car. I would get help from ACP (Automovel Clube de Portugal) assuming you are a member. - You can buy the wheels from Superformance in the UK and tyres here in Portugal. I highly recommend Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002. They should cost a litle over 400 euros for the set, alignment and balance included. Hope this helps!
You think Superformance is my best bet Rui? £795 ( the set) is €993 today (!) + courier I had hoped that Portugal could surprise me, but if you guys are buying at Superformance. One thing that puzzled me was the fact that the inspection was ok ...I know the previous owner was ....er...slightly well known ( more so today perhaps lol) but the tyres aren't in the same measurement system ! ( actually maybe there's a way out hmmmm) TRX Tyres aren't bad in themselves, maybe I could put them on - anyone got any thoughts on that? - the reason the car was lively & a little slippery in Arouca ( 9 hours rain) was the fact that they are from 1998........(in my defence they look perfect and are not cracked or worn at all, but slippery.... I had to put my sons eyes back in his head after one slide... apparently it was as good as " Need for speed" on the Ipad .. ) I can get TRX's for £275 /€343 each €1372 a set + delivery. So new wheels & tyres are the way to go - is that the consensus? That's a cheap bargain compared to a trip into the barrier, or a run down the side of the Mountain - if the tyres let go. Ah well, no wheels in Portugal :-(
Rampa, I think you could get the TRX Tyres in Portugal for 250 EUR each. If that was the way you choose I could help you.
Listen to Rui, he's spot on. Initial expense on the rims will save you lots of money in the long run with tires, if you plan to use the car, that is. Eurospares or Superformance are great, I've had good experiences with both. Also, there is always a way to pass the inspection in Portugal...
Thank you all for your responses, V12 - the TRX tyres are interesting as the car had them originally, the issue though seems to be date of manufacture - the front tyres on my car are 2001 TRX & 2004 TRX - the rears are a Dunlop metric tyre of 1998... These are available in the UK cheaper than TRX but were made in 2009. V12, do you know what year the TRX here were manufactured? The Wheel/Tyre solution is attractive from the point of view of choice, I do hope to use the car in winter as all that nice cold dense air going into the carbs - gives a peculiar pleasure! - and the Estrellas get cold - a good set of soft tyres would be great. That still leaves the cost...Superformance are actually £745 + VAT 20% +£50 delivery so €1180 a little more than thought. Add in tyres we get to €1600 Mais/Menos. From educating myself on tyre life - the most I should expect is 5 years total - however I should confess to never having achieved that on any car - except that at the moment we have 4 road cars and this means 5years is theoretically possible ( although Mr Ferrari would be very unhappy if he thought that of his customers...) RS6Bird - inspection comment noted Thanks for tolerating the use of English as well, Normalmente eu precisar de muito mais tempo para pensar na gramática correta - então obrigado! R.
Rampa, The TRX that I mention was to be supplied new from Michelin, so they must have least then 1 year old.
V12, the certification says 220/55/390 TRX front and rear - are these available here? Where would be the place to look? Thank you all for your help, I have spoken to wheel suppliers and it would be a few weeks before I could get hold of any. So I will, if possible try the TRX. Thanks everyone, R.
