"Ferrari has announced that it has setup Ferrari Japan KK, a fully-owned subsidiary, that will become the official importer of new Ferraris in Japan. Ferrari currently markets its vehicles in Japan through a partnership with Cornes & Company Ltd.

Ferrari Asia Pacific Division Headquarters will oversee all Ferrari Japan KK operations, which will begin on July 1st.

Ferrari has seen strong growth in Japan over the past few years, with 2007 sales increasing 38.7% over 2006."

Xavior told me that Cornes cars are a bit detuned compared to euro imports. I wonder if the Ferrari Japan KK cars will be faster than the Cornes cars. This can't be good news for Cornes. I assume they weren't bought out.

The Cornes 'limited edition' versions Ferrari built for them were always first class. I wonder if there will still be the same push from that market for more of those unique offerings?

Knew this was coming. Cornes will still be a dealer. Ferrari are taking direct control of distribution in all major markets

Rumor that this new setup unit would be expanding its own wings to taking control some countries in Asia Pacific area, including Thailand. From what I know, there have been several representatives from Maranello paying visits to the authorized dealer here in last couple months. That could mean some changes might be established in thailand proably.

If you ask me... Cornes should not be allowed to sell Ferrari's and I am happy Ferrari came to Japan.
