The suspense is way too much, I am so glad that the Japanese GP is next weekend.

Interesting statistic on SpeedNews tonight, in 1998 Mika and Michael were tied with two races to go. Mika won that year. I hope Michael wins this time.

Ron, regardless of whoever wins, it has been a great season of racing. So much excitement and the fact that Ferrari have come from behind is amazing.

i think MS will pull through. I think the only reason why he did not take the title last year was with the tire rule. He is really good at high speeds when he does not need to worry about tire wear so much. And I think he is much better at high speeds under presure. I honestly think it was a fluke for Alanzo. Sorry, i dont like the guy, never did. This year I think it just took time for MS to get his groove. But who knows, he could crash in the next two or vise versa. We shall see.

True. Schumacher's come back this year after a lacklustre begining is good to watch. When he doesn't do anything silly (like parking his car!), the guy is amazing to watch, not only his driving, but his ability to addapt to different situations during a race, and maximise on changing conditions.
It's not the first time that he grabs a victory from the jaws of defeat.

I don't know if it's all down to him, or some very good tactics going on in the Ferrari pits (Ross Brawn?).

Despite the fact that Mika won the WDC both years, frankly I think MS exhibited the best driving of his career during that time. If MS wins this year it will mean more than most of his other championships because he will have really earned it like he did when he was racing against Mika in 2000 without any controversy about his driving. If he drives clean and doesn't resort to any questionable tactics if he runs out of talent, I'll be happy to see him win the WDC. I really have not ever liked him since 1994 but I think having made his decision to retire has given him the clarity of mind to excel.

Ferrari have been doing better the latter part of the year compared to Renault. What, 4 or 5 races ago Alonso was 25+ points ahead? Now its even. If the trend continues, it's rosy for Ferrari.

Furthermore, there have been 2 or 3 situations where Renault have appeared to have the upper hand, only to perform sub-optimally. Statistically, we are due up for a couple of dry, normal races. In those conditions, MS has the advantage. He has experience, a better (IMO) car, patience and maturity and he knows what it takes to win. Alonso is cracking, he looked furious today and I think he is slipping.

Did anyone noting Michael BEAMING after the race? A HUGE smile - and he genuinely looked ahead to the next races with excitement and anticipation. Alonso looked like someone just kicked his dog - not a happy camper.

I believe MS will win. It will be perfect... he will win his 8th WDC at the final race of the year, in his final race as an F1 driver. I hope he does it - it will be a very emotional moment for him and all of F1, and boy does he ever deserve it.

If MS wins the race and Alonso doesn't get any points, MS will clinch the title.

Michael will win at Suzuka. He promised when he retired to give the Ferrari fans 3 wins. He still has to give 2 more wins to keep his promise and he has 2 more races to do it in!
