Hi all — I’m back! I am re-entering vintage Lamborghini ownership after a few years respite. I have just purchased Jarama 10122. A friend and I are flying in to Appleton, WI on Monday to pick up the car, and drive it from there to my home in NJ. The car has had a tremendous amount of mechanical perfecting work done by George Evans (as advertised in the seller’s Ebay ad - over $250k) to make it a great driving car, as well was a new interior, and the seller has taken many longer trips in it. He assures me it is up to the task. George spoke very highly of both the car and the seller whe I spoke with him as I was doing my due diligence. First day of the trip is planned to be from Appleton to Fort Wayne, IN where my friend lives. My friend is a fellow car guy and professional photographer, so we will photo document what I hope is a successful journey. I will do the Fort Wayne to Bedminster, NJ leg on my own. Wish me luck. I’m excited to return to vintage Lambo ownership.

Wow, Kirk, been a few years. I still have the Urraco.

I, too, have a Jarama as well. Was running perfectly for years but not at the moment. Maybe it'll fire up next weekend when I have time.

One thing I quickly noticed about my Jarama is how comfortable it is on the highway. Perhaps it is a well broken-in seat but just rides so nice.
Enjoy your adventure and post pictures.
And, welcome back to vintage Lamborghini ownership!

    Welcome back Kirk,

A pleasure to meet you through my friend Avery.

Which area in NJ are you from ? It is only 800 km away from Quebec city... when borders will open again !

It was amazing how well this trip went. No issues whatsoever. I drove 360 miles yesterday and 650 miles today. Mostly interstate highway driving. I was typically going about 75 to 80 mph. The car really loved being at higher speeds. A spectacular performance for this car. An awesome experience.

It was better in person than the photos suggested, or at least it was when I saw it preceding the "Historics" sale (bid to £90K then but didn't make reserve).

    Regards Andy

I had somebody looking at it for me, asking price is too ambitious for overall quality, it should have been sold for £90k

I agree, and am sure the seller does now too.... But I guess that was maybe 2-3 years ago and prices had peaked and were just about to fall off a cliff. Any idea what the high bid was on collecting cars? I don't follow it.

    Regards Andy

I finally found you over here in lopped off Lamborghini land. Not sure why they separated this from Fchat? It was good seeing you again yesterday. I don't know the reputation of Jarama's AC system and hope it's better than the Espada's. You should investigate getting that fixed IMHO. Get a modern compressor like a Sanden. BTW R12 is still available and that's what the rest of the system was designed for.

    Hi Olivier,

No, I noticed it being displayed on the Historics stand at "Brooklands Italia" when I was at the show with one of my other cars. My only interest in looking at it was to reference a few things to help me in the restoration of my own Jarama. It just appeared to be a fairly decent example back then, but of course it might have deteriorated as this was two or more years ago and the owner makes it sound like it is not used.

    Regards Andy

Unfortunately, it has deteriorated since looking at all the detailed pictures showing bubbles in the paint, primer reaction, so sad after the owner spend a budget to make it new with that bronze color which is not the original Grigio Londra color...

Unfortunatemy, it has deteriorated since looking at all the detailed pictures showing bubbles in the paint, clearly primer reaction, so sad after the owner spend a budget to make it new with that bronze color which is not the original Grigio Londra color.

I don't recall these being present when I saw it but it was some time ago now. Personally however, such minor imperfections would not bother me but I tend to actually use my classics - therefore they pick up blemishes in the same way as ordinary vehicles would.

I think that the issue with this car is that the owner is describing it as if without imperfections; which it clearly now has.
