Tried that - drove it with no ECU, felt no difference - still very light. Hence suspicion on servotronic unit itself

My B7 Audi A4 3.2 and S4 have the same servotronic steering and yes @AVIMAX, pulling the ECU does cause it to go to no/minimum assist, so I agree with the diagnosis that the servotronic unit is stuck in full assist, which sounds awful! Good luck getting it sorted @JayEmm, please keep us updated and thanks for checking in, I always enjoy your videos.

My Audis similarly suffer overboosted steering at low speed, but there's no FHP/MSW option, so the poor man's fix is to either run without the ECU which I found to be too heavy, or add a resistor in line to reduce the control voltage from the ECU, which I haven't gotten around to futzing with yet.

Greg you can just swap the controller on most Audi's just the MSW controller. Shoot me an email I will share with you my WAG steering controller info.

@Auraraptor, interesting, I was assuming the specific map would be different.. if I can just use the MSW one, that's an interesting, though somewhat pricey, option.. I will message you in a moment.
