While driving I have encountered countless humans that often offer me their unsolicited opinions & comments concerning my car . It can be grueling .It is amazing how people feel it is their right to verbalize their thoughts to me on a subject either they cant afford or their wife wont let them buy . The jealousy & envy is disgusting .
To owners who drive their cars , I drive it every day ,share with me any experiences .

Well, one day my wife and I went to meet her Mom for pizza, as we pulled in there was a proup of people in there 20's, we parked and walked up to her Mom and the kids left. Her Mom told us that one of the girls said to the others, look at that rich *****. Funny she said that and left, we were in a semi rich neighborhood. By the way, we are not rich.

Don't worry, that's all jealousy and envy. For all the comments I have heard while cruising like "it's not his, probably a rental", or "that's a body kit", or "must be nice to be rich", or even "show off", I have also received thousands of "nice car", "nothing like the sound of a Ferrari", and hundreds of thumbs up. The good responses far outweigh the not so good ones. To me, it's all about you and your car, and screw what others think, jealousy will always be around, no matter what you drive or who you're with.
I personally enjoy my Ferrari like it's meant to be enjoyed, and I could careless what other people may say, just enjoy it, you've earned that right.

Alot of my friends say the same thing, "look at the rich", must be nice, etc.. To them I say, what were you doing ten years ago when I was struggling trying to build my company. Same sh** your doing now I suppose, complaining how evryone else has stuff you wish you had. Enjoy your car, I am sure you earned it. If it gets you down with there stupid comments, find a back road and blast it for a moment or so..it always puts a smile back on my face

went to a bbq sunday at a chick im seeings parent house.. her dad opened the door..saw the 355 and said... ' dont you have anything better to do with your money ? ' :-D

Couple days earlier I was at the gas station and while inside getting a soda i heard two teenage boys talk about the fiero kit car outside and all the ways you can tell its not real.

Couple days before that some metrosexual dude in a tricked out range rover pulled up next to me and said ' i bet my car cost more than yours'.

I could go on and on.. Its all fun.

Definitely agree - in fact, I think the only negative comment I've had in a year and a bit is a Harley rider with a "Ferrari ***got" comment. Other than that it's been all positive, which has surprised the heck out of me. Even in the ratty part of town it's all positive comments.

Where the heck do you guys go to hear all this BS? Sheesh, the only time I hear anything is when I'm at the gas station and it's mostly just "what year is that?" Although once at the gas station a woman asked me if it ruined the "effect" that I had a car seat in the Mondial. (My daughter was in the car).

It could be any where . For instance . I went to the mall 1 mile from my home & parked WAY out from the building . Need CD's . There is no antenna for radio . I return to my car & am putting CD in . Now I admit I was in 2 spots , but in an area where there were no other cars even remotely close to me . A fine 'gentleman ' driving a suv that looked like he did more drinking than golfing that day was yelling at me (my window was rolled up ) that I was in more than one space & he wanted to be sure that I was OK . Idiot. He had to go out of his way completely to get even near where I was parked . My guess is wife wont let him have one OR he cant have one . Either way , not friendly to say the least . I could go on & on ... Maybe its because there are more people here that own pickup trucks , in the area I reside , for no other reason than to say they own one ? Who knows Who cares ? So , no , I dont go anywhere out of the ordinary to hear this crap . Was told by a resident idiot that when I started it it sounded like his weed whacker , a weed whacker , with a voice similar to Jeff Foxworthy . Another one , a guy driving a 20YR old BMW , his eyes beaming with envy ,said to me "is it STILL fast " , my reply " no ,it gets slower every year " . Stupid Question gets Stupid answer .
    Funny Huh !
    Gotta Love it !

This one is my favorite experience of all. At a red light waiting for the light change and older couple pulls up. Lady rolls her window down and says oh my god you must be rich what do you do for a living? I look over with favorite grin when driving and say, PORN STAR! Older woman in shock rolls her window up immediately and refuses to even remotely look over at me at all. You should have seen her face!

Whilst driving near my home, I passed a Pub where two guys were having a drink. As I drove past (and I had no tubi at the time), one of the guys turns around and gives me the universal hand gesture for "masturbation".

I went home, got my camera and went back in mu Honda and took a pic of them and posted it up on fchat. See below.

Should have got telephoto lens!!! :D :D :D

Oh and the other thing that tends to annoy me is when people say "could'nt you afford a newer one?"

I only had the car for a few weeks and I found the incident very funny and wanted to share it with my forum buddys.

Saying that.... if it happened now, I would'nt do it.

I have matured into a sensible Ferrari owner and forum poster.

I used to get comments like these in my 2000 TransAm. A Pontiac!(Did daddy let you borrow his car?) I get comments like these now on my Big Dog Chopper! It's jealousy, nothing more! If someone(not everyone, just the hateful types) can't afford it, they try to make you feel bad for having it. My thoughts are this: YOU ARE DEFINED BY THE CHOICES YOU MAKE. I choose to spend my money on cars and bikes. I like it that way! If you choose different, shut up! I don't care! My 2c.

Being a biker, I have to say that the ****** who said "Ferrari ***got" is in the minority! Most bikers are really cool people. Had to say it!

It's funny, right after I posted above, asking where this happens to you guys, it happened to me!

So last night I decided to take a little spin in the 308 for no good reason other than it was a nice night and I had to juggle the cars around in the garage. Gotta start the 308 anyway, why not go for a spin, grab an ice cream, etc. So I was out driving on a back road, 2 lanes, speed limit 45, going about 50, just cruising along. This SUV comes up behind me, passes me at about 75 with some adolescent kid hanging out the window looking at the car. About 5 minutes later, they turn off onto a side street, but stop and wait for me, then give me the finger as I go by. I considered following them home to mommy and daddy's house and giving their parents an earful, but I decided that given these kids are morons, I can reasonably expect that their parents are too. So I shrugged it off and kept driving. WTF? Jealous I guess. Man my car was running great, it was bliss. Why does some ****** always have to wreck the fun?

I think it has to be that parents that have failed come to terms that they will never have one or let alone be able to drive one, and so they pass the mentality on to their kids that a ferrari is unobtainable and should never think about buying one. They probably go on about how dumb people are to spend that much on a car and how stupid it would be to spend that much ect... but secretly you know they play with their matchbox F40 under the sheets at night making Vrooming noises till their wives wake up.

Personally my parents said you can have whatever you can afford. I want a Ferrari and a lamborghini so bad its not even funny (its my drive to be successful in fact) everytime i see one im like ...What am i doing ! i need to do more. I have a lot of respect for the owners who have 1)taste for buying a car that means something 2) the engineers behind it all 3)people who are willing to enjoy life.

so for all those bad comments....."Nice cars guys, I hope you at least open them up once in a while"

I used to hear it all the time about my Porsche 911. Souped up VW.

Now that I have a Mondial, I hear "How is the Fiat?"

All the rice rockets rev up their little 4 cyl engine as they speed by.

Any one owning a Ferrari, has one for their reason.
I own one for the same reason I owned a Porsche.
The designers and engineers built the best road car they could build.

    Drive and enjoy

I never get a negative reply. I love and welcome all questions and comments from from kids to older ladies at the mall. Usually it this the guy at the gas station filling up his minivan that is the most intrigued. I just reply, "We all make our own choices in life, yours are kids, mine are cars." Having a 'Cool Ferrari Attitude' is the worst thing to possess. (Next to running around with Ferrari labelled apparel)

I rarely got any negative comments when I owned my 355, I actually had more people snapping photos of my car or giving me a thumbs up or "nice car" comments.

I had two amusing incidents, the first was while gassing up my Ferrari. A guy pulls up in the opposite island in a yellow Plymouth Prowler, right behind him are some of his buddies in a trailing car. He yells over to them, "The question is, what would you rather have, a Black Ferrari or a Yellow Prowler?"

Before his buddy could answer, I yelled over, "If you don't know the answer to that, you're too stupid to own a Ferrari".

The second incident I had was while driving my 911 Turbo. I pulled up to a toll booth off the Massachusetts Turnpike and a guy pulls up in the next to me in a souped-up '50s hot rod. He yells over to me, "Anyone can buy one of those..."

So I yelled back, "Oh yeah, where's yours??"

You could always ask: "Yes, it's an older Ferrari. What year is yours?"

There is a kind of "newer is better" mentality among the general population when it comes to cars. I don't subscribe to it. Finances permitting, my next car may be a '50s Porsche Speedster or variant. If it doesn't come with a DVD player, GPS/Nav and distronic cruise control, then I'll just have to rough it.

I still get more "nice car!" comments than anything when I'm out in the 328.

Yes that is clearly an ignorant view. Thats like saying MTV is better than Shakespeare bcus its newer. WTF?!?

Newer means newer, in no way does it imply better

As far as preffering a POS Prowler to a Ferrari that guy was severely deluded LOL
