    Well not quite, but he will race in a series using NASCAR style equipment in the Middle East and Asia. The Speedcar Series will begin on road courses this November.

    Alesi is excited about driving "stock cars" and will test here in the USA in March at VIR. (Autosport Magazine)

    (I wonder how long before NASCAR buys out the series and makes it official? Like it or not, NASCAR style racing is becoming popular world wide. Once you see it live, it is easy to understand the excitement. If only they used real cars....)

    This is a road racing series in stock looking cars. Tube frame with a body and big motor. Running on road courses. Not NASCAR style more like ASCAR out of Canada but they do not run tube frames.

    What is interesting is that all the cars are built by one builder and all the motors are built by one builder. You show up and drive. With NASCAR's new cars, this might show them how it should be done to avoid cheating. The teams and drivers just show up and drive. All the cars go back to NASCAR until the next event.

    They've got track time scheduled at VIR Monday and Tusday next week.
