    Good to hear from you on FChat....welcome. Glad to hear there was minor damage to the plane but I bet you did have to change your underwear!

    Jeff, that aileron failure happened during a Cirrus test flight under known conditions, piloted by a Cirrus test pilot. As you know, an aileron failing is not going to spiral you into the ground but it makes it kinda difficult to land straight!
    The pilot flew the AC to a spot of his choice and deployed his chute.
    I do not consider that a "typical" deployment of CAPS, nor do I consider the Cirrus rebuild typical. Just my opinion.

    However, you are correct. You and your AC are very fortunate.
    700 IMC? You are very fotunate indeed. I doubt I'd even take off.
