Must have been damp/wet. Ten seconds off the last two days. LOVE seeing those silver cars DOWN the list!
I am going to be very interested in the Webber/Coulthard battle at Red Bull. A couple of has-beens/never-weres trying to keep their disappointing F1 careers afloat. A Renault-engined Newey-designed car deserves better than to be piloted by these two...
Enjoy it, it isn't going to be the same once the season starts. I have a feeling that McLaren is going to have a big year.
Hey is it just me or is the red color on Ferrari's 2007 car different from their original color. It looks more like a deeper red than the usual red with orange.
mmmm..... I don't know here the F248 and the F2007 @ Vellanuga last week Image Unavailable, Please Login
Regardless of your criticisms, they're still two of the best in the world. There aren't any other drivers out there who have the abilities of Schuey, Alonso or Raikkonen. Many drivers are already taken, and two veteran drivers are better than two new guys. Coulthard may be lackluster compared to Schuey, Mika, Kimi, Alonso etc. but look who he's being compared with, some of the best of this era with 11 championships between them, and Raikkonen is sure to win a couple or more of his own. Mark on the other hand hasn't had a top car, so we can't make any direct comparisons on what he'd be able to do with it versus Hakkinen or Raikkon etc. Now you may be thinking that Montoya or Villeneuve may be a better choice then either guy, so lets examine this. Montoya has proved inconsistent and plain frustrated at F1. No matter how much of it was his fault, his performance during 06 was lacking, to put it nicely. Plus he was committed to Nascar only days after his canning from Mclaren, so he was never an option anyways. Now Villenueve, has been unmotivated for the past 6-7 years. His pace even during his time at Williams showed no indicator that he could outperform either DC or Mark, we all know how good the Williams was.
those Beemers are flying! i really hope they'll do well this year in the actual championship. glad to see the Williams up there too.
They look the same but the 248 could have been repainted in the new color. it does seem a bit darker this year.
Coulthard has had how many years driving World Championship-caliber cars and how did he fare? Pretty poorly compared to his teammates. I am not comparing Webber and Coulthard to drivers at large, even the worst F1 driver of all time can run circles around virtually all of us, but what I am comparing them to is the rest of the field and other top-level drivers who should be in F1 (yes, that includes Montoya). Coulthard has had his opportunities in F1 and has made nothing out of them. he will never be a World Champion and he will never again finish on the top rung of the podium. He is taking up space in F1 that should go to someone more deserving. As for Webber, if he couldn't impress in the Williams teamed up with a rookie driver, then he simply doesn't have it. He too will never be a world champion and he too will never step on the top step of the podium. he should go to champ cars where he can race against Justin Wilson, he is that caliber of driver. He has had his chance and shown us nothing. Montoya is a better driver than anyone on the F1 grid, other than Kimi and Alonso, and I believe he is the equal of either of those two on pure driving talent. I agree that Montoya has weaknesses as a driver that negatively impacted his performance in 2006 but he is as fast as any man in F1, including Schumacher. JV sucks as a driver and is a drain on the team's morale, I think. However, unlike Coulthard, when he had a world championship caliber car, he went out and won a world championship. I would much rather see Montoya behind the wheel of an F1 car than either Coulthard or Webber, and so would a lot of other people I suspect.
Well everytime DC has had an opportunity, he has had to deal with Hakkinen and Schumacher. From 98-2002 he was right behind those two, consistently finishing either 3rd or 2nd in points. Once again, no shame in beaing beaten by Schumacher or Hakkinen. He did manage to beat Raikkonen in 02, although Kimi was a rookie, he still did it. Then in 03 he was beaten by Raikkonen, someone who people consider up next to Schuey and Alonso in talent. Then in 04, well it's pointless to mention 04 because Schumacher won nearly all the races. All i'm saying is, there must have been some reason why he was kept at Mclaren so long, especillay with the uber anal Ron Dennis as boss. From 2003-2006 he's beaten all of his teammates, De la Rosa, Heidfeld, and Rosberg. Didn't his manager Flavio try to get him to join Renault? Stupidly though, he chose Williams. Either way, he's still performed better then his teammates, so I don't understand how you can degrade his caliber. If this is the case, then Nick,Pedro and Nico should be following him to CC. I don't agree, yes he was very quick but I don't place his talents up there with Schuey,Alonso,Raikkonen etc. He's damn close though, but it goes to show that talent alone woln't cut it at the top level. He was always too agressive and lacked commitment, the mental side wasn't there. Yes but he didn't have a world championship caliber teammate did he? Nope he didn't have to deal with a Hakkinen or Schumacher or Raikkonen, he had Hill and Frentzen. WHOO!!!! Yes but not any current team bosses short of Gerhard Berger, but apparently, there are those out there would still like DC and MW behind the wheel.
While he has shown to have quite some talent and we are of the same nationality, I'd hate for that to happen. I have NEVER seen anyone with so little character in F1.. very boring as a person.
Aaaaah, the giants of F1... Uuuuummm....you do know that Damon Hill is a World Champion in his own right, don't you?
Of course, I happen to also like Damon. ALTHOUGH! you and I both know that Alex Yoong could have won in the Williams that year. You and I also know that if Hill was partnered with either Hakkinen or Raikkonen he would have been beaten worse than Coulthard.
You mean like any mediocre talent could win driving a Ferrari?? *coughMassacough* Couthard was also behind the wheel of that Williams, alongside Hill, and got his ass soundly handed to him. In the same car as Hill, he got buried. Why do you think Hill would have fared worse than Coulthard when he is obviously a better driver than DC? Furthermore, Hill won in a Jordan and damn near won Hungary behind the wheel of an Arrows! He was an absolutely deserving World Champion.
