McLaren has become the latest team to test a 2009-style front wing, introducing the new design at Jerez on Wednesday.

Formula 1’s aerodynamic regulations have been changed for next season in the hope of increasing the chances of overtaking.

The cars will now run lower and wider front wings, taller and narrower rear wings and shorter diffusers producing less turbulence.

BMW, Williams and Honda (before they pulled out of F1) were the only teams to have previously tested 2009-style wings, as all three switched their development programmes to the new rules midway through last season.

SeasBass is proving more and more that he doesn't deserve the STR seat.

The McLaren 2009 front wing doesn't too bad. The new regulations wouldn't be so bad if the team could just keep the 2008 rear wings.

IMO they all have a shot at the two seats next year. I give props to Sato if he wins the seat.

With all the uncertainty and hand-wringing, it feels good to see action on the track.

    +1

But, I don't think Stoddart is coming back - He had his fun/wallet emptying experience. [And, good luck to him.]

Richards OTOH is smart - IIRC when he last "tried" it was the cost of motors that "scared" him away. With that cost pegged at ~$6M per he may well be able to make it happen.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Stoddart I liked him, he gave PornoMax some "verbal" lashings that is!! but the fact the freak is still in power will stop him coming back.
