My car has a warm-up problem (more about that in a subsequent post). I am trying to get data to help with the diagnostics. In the process of measuring circuits I unplugged the Jetronic ECU diode and did not mark it so I'm not sure which way it goes when I reinstall it.

One side of the diode is marked "51 battery" and the other "59 generator".

There are two plugs to choose from: one has 1 Pink wire with a Black stripe wire and the other has 2 Pink wires with Yellow stripes. The wire with the Black stripe goes to the TPS.

My testing indicates that the "59" side is the anode and goes to plug with the 2 pink wires with yellow stripes, but I would appreciate if someone would be so kind as to check there car and post how the wires are hooked to the diode.

Also, (from a archive post) I understand there is a service bulletin regarding these diodes if someone could post or email me a copy of it I would appreciate that too.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Mark my friend!

Attached are a few pictures from my ECU testing article, but they're not really going to be helpful from an advanced standpoint. My wiring diagram shows two wires into terminal #59 (one of which is pink-striped) and one wire out of terminal #51 (black). I do recall reinstalling exactly the same as the diagram.

It's single-digits out, but call me 507-529-0877 if you want me to disassemble & check - I will!

    Carl:

    Thank you so much.
Your ECU procedure saved me! There is a picture "Hot w/O2 connected" that shows terminal 59 with the 2 wire plug.
Glad I didn't have to ask you go out in the cold for a research project. It is cold here too 61 high Brrrr...

My car is doing some funny things during the warm-up and I wanted to test as many things as I could before I ask for help on the board.

I'll email you next week--we are getting a little slower at work (finally).

    Thanks Again,

    Mark
