I can't believe the AA was allowed to fly on to London.

 

Mar27, 1977 I was taking a flying lesson. When we got back on the ground the news was talking about Tenerife.

I thought that after a rejected takeoff that the Airlines required a maintenance inspection of the brakes.

 

The Delta plane was the one that returned to the gate.

 

Delta has specific rules on what has to be done and who approves if the crew can fly again that day based on different criteria.

 

My moms school friend and family where on the KLM flight of Tenerife.

 

Wasn't the KLM pilot featured in their ad campaign at the time?

 

I think i recall seeing something like that from the documentaries, wasn't he their most experienced pilot or something?
