Seem to be a few threads going; I posted the new Copart pics here, http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/288gto-f40-f50-enzo-laferrari/308666-f50-thread-28.html#post142662887. So, of course it was his head that hit the windshield... I mean you can't wear a seat belt when you're shirtless - it would chafe.
August of 2013? It's been sitting that long, and only now making news? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142516186-post476.html
Hmmm anyone know someone who I can talk to, to get a professional opinion on the "repairability" of the car? Though before my time, I have always had a soft spot for the F40/F50.
I love how when there is a wreck of an exotic, everyone suddenly becomes the voice of reason and the epitome of the "never broken a law or damaged a car in their life driver." His money, his car.
Anyone ever used Copart? Is it possible to get a report from them of the repairs that the insurance company said were needed (the basis for the car being junked)? While not a definitive list it would be a good starting point.

Yep. I was watching the pre-sale bidding and my threshold was $250k. I watched it go live and just laughed when it crossed $400k. But then cried. That was the first F50 I saw in my life (when I was 12). Would have been nice to resurrect it.
I am only confused by the idea of a US spec car going to Germany. Will be interesting to follow the story on this one. I wonder if the Texas bidder could have been Andy House? He's got a thing for wrecked supercars. >8^) ER
