A movie has been made about Jo Siffert's live and it will open in Swiss movie theaters this week. The title is "Live fast - die young.".

Horrible title. Is this like a "Hollywood production", with actors and a script, or a documentary?

Today, by the way, is the 34th anniversary of Siffert's fatal accident in the BRM at Brands Hatch.

The title is bad, agreed, but I think the film has real potential to be a true hommage:

Obviously I'm waiting for it being release on VHS or DVD. Sometime next year, I'm sure.

I had the pleasure of meeting Siffert in the pits at Brands Hatch in 71...THe Jackie Stewart celebration GP. I was at Clearways at the time of the accident, and saw the wreckage.
The post accident has been discussed in many books, but generally has pointed to mechanical failure.
A great but humble driver...I was 16 at the time, will look forward to the film.

I don't remember his name right now, but I recall the Racing Manager at Porsche once said that Jo was the greatest Sports Car racer they had in addition to Pedro Rodriguez.

And a great Ferrari collector / trader as well.

If I am not mistaken, many of the Swiss road Ferraris and many racing cars passed through his hands.

Also from the top of my head, he rented a large number of the cars required for the shooting of Steve McQueen's "Le Mans" to Solar Productions.
