If you really wanted to discuss engineers who were so toxic and useless that they single handedly destroyed teams, then consider Sam Michael, who went from Jordan (where he achieved some recognition) to Williams for their first doldrum years, then to McLaren, where he was completely useless and a big part of the downward spiral that started immediately after his arrival; and Rob Smedley, who was only detrimental to Massa when he was at Ferrari (could have been part of why Massa sucked), but went to Williams and now Williams has been heading downwards ever since Smedley's arrival.
