It's amazing how time gives you perspective.

Stanley Gruen's jewel of a comment doesn't get any better: ''The Countach is for the guy who would love a Testarossa but can't get one''

    Hilarious!

A gentleman who settled for the Countach in 1986 paying around $120,000 just sold it for over $750,000.

    Current Testarossa values? Not-so-much.

It's always about making the right choices because the Countach is by far the better driving car. I recall that circa 1986 whilst I was saving up for my first Countach a good example of which I had driven, I was offered and subsequently drove a Testarossa, I knew after a short drive that I never wanted to drive one again, much less own one.

The piece also mentions the movies Cannonball Run and Rocky IV as having had a popularizing effect for the marque upon popular culture especially in the USA, that may be so however IMO the CBS 60 Miunutes show on Lamborghini is what sealed the deal for most.

Here below is is a post-card that Joe Nastasi sent out in 1986 on behalf of Lamborghini East, featuring a brand new Rosso/Rosso Fuelie with specification and pricing on the back of the card
