Of course you RSVP. FM of FLL puts on incredible events, attendance is overwhelming. Not to mention such things as first class refreshments, hors d'oeuvres, etc., and from experience, FM of FLL always goes all out and presents the absolute best possible.

So to be sure everyone is taken care of properly, you absolutely need to RSVP.

I just wish I was not stuck in cold northern Mexico.

    Oh pahleeease.

So...if I, as a serious potential client happened to stroll up to the dealership and see this going on I'd be turned away because I forgot to RSVP?
Well then...if so...it would be clear where not to buy in the future.
They are a car dealer trying to sell cars for a profit. Anticipate what kind of turn out you might expect for potential clients and provide a reasonable amount of food and drink to cover that expectation. No one would expect more than that effort.
But to ask for an RSVP, like it is some exclusive privilege to look at and consider purchasing the new run-of-the-mill Maserati is ridiculous. We're not talking about some seat time in an F12 for a select few high-end clients.

Sir we would strive to accommodate each and every person, and we always have. But this launch party is at a lounge in downtown Fort Lauderdale that simply has limited room. In order to provide an event that all enjoy, we simply ask people drop us a line if they intend on coming.

As the Ghibli is more of a 'mainstream' car, we expect space to fill up beyond capacity vs. a high-end car like an F12 that only a few select clients would be invited to. This is a 'public' launch.

Guess I am old fashioned. When invited to a special event, I always know I will RSVP. That way the host knows what kind of food and beverage service to plan. These events are not usually held during business hours, so unlikely a "serious potential client" would walk up. And as was stated, this event is off premise, at a special lounge.

My suggestion to you, just do not go.

In all the years I have planned events.....it is usually all the people that didn't have the courtesy to RSVP that are the ones who get the most aggitated when the venue gets filled, food and booze run out, and then complain what a crappy job people did planning the event......lol.....

Exactly, and the reason posting information about events like this on F-Chat is a double edged sword.

Recalling the time we did the Picnic & Polo event in Wellington a few years ago. We intentionally kept
things off of F-Chat (particularly who had RSVP'd out of courtesy to our guests) but some participants
were meeting up in Broward to caravan to the Polo Club and making all their plans public in the Florida
    section.

Of course, an interloper (some kid with a BMW as I recall) saw all this, decided to join in the caravan,
drove like a nut "racing" everyone. When he got to the venue, he sulked around, ate the free food,
drank the free booze and left.

Then he promptly got home, went on F-Chat and actually *****ed about the free food and booze, how
no one paid any attention to him, how polo was a ***** sport and everyone were *******s, etc.

Funny how everyone who RSVP'd had a great time, an event that everyone still talks
about, why don't we do it again, etc. so it couldn't have been all that bad.

I've never attended an event at my local Fcar dealer where I didn't have to RSVP beforehand. It's just common courtesy so that they can plan logistics. I'm just happy to get the invite.
